River Vale NJ, according to Assemblywomen Holly Schepisi today April 6, 2020 Â Although very preliminary we are starting to see the social distancing efforts working in New Jersey. We are seeing a decline in rate of growth of new cases from a 24% increase per day last week to an increase of only 12% today. We are beginning to see a flattening which is a positive sign. I do not yet have recovery numbers from the State of NJ. I will post these numbers as soon as I receive them.
HOWEVER we will only see a continued flattening if we abide by STAY AT HOME regulations particularly during the next 2 weeks. Do not go out, other than for walks, etc. (while maintaining social distancing) unless absolutely necessary.

CDC has recommended using cloth face masks, including scarves, bandanas, etc. when going outside. This IS NOT in lieu of social distancing but in addition to social distancing. These are not medical grade masks — those are needed for our health care workers. Please be cautious putting on and taking off these face masks. Wash your hands prior to putting the mask on. Do not touch the front of the mask once on. When taking the mask off, wash your hands both before and after taking it off. Place the mask in a paper bag and make sure you wash it prior to reusing it.
