Ridgewood NJ, The Village of Ridgewoood Department of Parks & Recreation is pleased to announce that the Graydon Pool will open for the season on Monday, June 29th at 10:00 am following COVID-19 protocol and newly designed policy and procedures.
All must wear masks upon admittance to the facility; read and sign a COVID 19 release waiver, and continue to practice social distancing measures while on the premises.
Upon arrival at Graydon Pool patrons will line up (wearing their masks) on the front stairs or ramp where they will then filter into their appropriate line at the entrance gate. We ask that each patron stand on the designated spaces demarked at 6 feet apart for social distancing.
Current season members who physically have their badge will line up to the left. This line will cross the footbridge and continue down the ramp where they will scan their badges at the check in tent and continue onto the beach.
Those needing to pick up new badges, register for a membership or purchase a daily guest pass will line up to the right of the foot bridge. They will then filter down the steps into two lines. The left hand side of the steps will be those purchasing a guest pass. They will be given clipboards while online to fill out the proper paperwork and speed up the admittance process. On the right hand side of the stairs will be those who purchased a membership but need their pictures taken and badges printed. Those looking to purchase a new membership will also wait in this line but are advised to pre-purchase their memberships on-line at register.comunnitypass.net/Ridgewood. These two lines will alternate back and forth to gain entry into the badge office for processing.
There will be no other designated entrances. The gate on Linwood Ave will be the official exit for all patrons throughout the day.
Masks should be worn anytime you are closer than 6 feet to a person not in your group and when on the patio area. They may be removed once your group is settled in a space socially distanced from the next group.
Patrons are encouraged to visit the departmental website for all additional info and to obtain seasonal passes on-line to expedite the admittance process each day. Visit www.ridgewoodnj.net/graydon for further information.
The attached updated infograph with new hours of operation and fees will also highlight important information pertaining to this summer season.
Be Safe and Enjoy.
Such a mistake. Village Council idiocy that will end up costing us all much more than its worth.
This is good, however I don’t see anyone going.
When did the price rise from $10- $15 per person and when did the half day options with a period for cleaning in between get nixed?
$60 for a mom/dad and 2 kids who have limited attention span and need to go home for naps is a lot of money.
$100,000 just to open Graydon plus all of the added costs of new CV-19 related cleaning and sanitizing protocols means Village taxpayers are going to be in the hole at least $500,000 for this mistake, and that’s before any lawsuits or settlements if someone were to be injured or get sick. There will be no ancillary revenues from vendors. This is pure stupidity on the part of the Village Council. Time and again they treat Village taxpayers with outright disdain, spending money like it isn’t their own.
Abject stupidity
please stop with the stupid comments ,if you don’t like the pool don’t go no one wants you there , the pool actually made money and funds many programs run Ridgewood Rec . Ridgewood can spend $100 grand on toilet paper , and its nice to see Village officials, do some work for a change ! Since most have not worked in 3 months.
If you don’t like the pool, don’t go. If you don’t like the parade, don’t go. If you don’t like any of the parks, don’t use them. If you don’t like the school system, send your kids to private school. Why do you have to complain about the pool? Just don’t go if you don’t like it
Jeff douche bag Voigt still commenting. Don’t you realize you are completely irrelevant now you asshole?
I’d prefer to keep some of you dirty people out of the pool anyway
If anything it should be free. With all that’s going on this past three months that’s the least of town can do for all of us. What a joke, ridiculous, they should be ashamed of themselves. So embarrassing. Do something for the residence at least.
Oh yes, But the villages so cheap.
Us residents deserve better
Wood, it’s totally stupid. You must be Village Council or one of their minions. Graydon will lose money this year to the tune of $500,000… it won’t be funding anything. This is stupid BIGLY!
Irrelevant to whom? The Karen’s of Ridgewood? 😂😂😂
Where are you coming up with 500,000. Where did you pull that number out of your ass.
The latest “best case” estimate for Graydon opening this season umber is a taxpayer LOSS of -$100,000. The Village Council never gave a “worst case” but given average cost overruns on anything they touch of 5-10X, a -$500,000 loss sounds within reason. The Council loves spending our money.
the Village , the State and the Fed lose money on everything they do
That does not make it acceptable.
First you said it made money and funded Ridgewood Rec programs. Now you say, “everybody’s losing money, jump in the cesspool is fine.”
Which is it?
Typical Karen. This Village is overpopulated with them. No doubt you’re big on “It Takes a Ridgewood Village”. Good for you.
