Proposed changes to regulations on certain streets will likely improve pedestrian safety and enhance the flow of traffic near Ridgewood schools, but some of the requests made by the Board of Education will require an amendment to the Village Code.
Ridgewood’s governing body on Wednesday introduced an ordinance that, if passed, will officially put those specific changes in the books. Council members are encouraging residents to comment on the ordinance prior to its adoption during the public hearing scheduled for Aug. 8.

One of the street is Fairfield.
It would ban parking east side from Glen Ave. south 426′ instead of 280′. During the school year, cars are parked on both sides of the street from Downs to Meadowbrook.
Very difficult for emergency vehicles and trucks to go through since it becomes a very narrow passageway.
