Ridgewood NJ, a recent letter to the editor authored by former Ridgewood Councilman Jeffery D. Voigt, in which Mr. Voigt claimed that Village Attorney Matthew S Rogers’ 2021 salary would increase 23% over his salary for the year 2020, prompted a response to the allegation from Mr. Rogers during Wednesday evening’s Village Council Public Work Session.
As readers of The Ridgewood Blog might have suspected, Mr. Voigt’s facts were completely erroneous (surprise, surprise!) – “inaccurate and misleading” were the descriptive words used by the extremely polite and respectful Village Attorney.
In a nutshell, instead of paying Mr. Rogers on an hourly basis for his legal services, the Village will now pay him a flat rate per fiscal year. This new plan will result in Mr. Rogers actually making less than he did in 2020 (7.5% less), 2019, and 2018.
Voigt also accused Rogers of billing over $50k for legal services in connection with the “One Village, One Vote” litigation. Rogers said he actually billed just over $6k.
We could go on and on with more examples of Voigt’s “inaccurate and misleading” information, but we won’t.

One thing for sure, despite this rather public humiliation of Mr. Voigt, The Ridgewood Blog is certain that its readers will be hearing more lies from him very shortly.
Voigt is a big fat liar. Don’t believe anything he writes to the news media.
Would like to know the source of the misinformation. When an actual percentage is cited, and it’s wrong, where does it come from?
Matt Rogers did an incredible job defending himself. He should never have been put in that position. I am with Mike Sedon on this . . . sue Jeff Voight (aka d-bag).
Can anyone explain to me how Jeff Voight was not censured for his d-bag comment…in an official capacity from the dias through a live microphone? And how about Aronshohn and Hauck? Shouldn’t two council members who are sleeping with each other be censured for not revealing their conflict of interest pertaining to each other? Hooban has a yelling match with a neighbor on the day her mother dies (after having been taunted for months) and gets a censure because the other party complained? This seems to be arbitrary and capricious, at best.

We know the “old” value. Where does the “new” value come from?
Let’s just hope that Matt does not say “screw this” and moves on to other clients. He is a valuable asset to the Village and I hope his skin is thicker than the head of a certain former politician.
Matt was magnificent last night. He was so classy in his rebuttal of the ridiculous lies, the damaging tales that Voigt has been spreading about him. Matt doesn’t deserve any of this, and it was horrible having to watch him defend himself. But wow, he did a great job. I hope Jeff Voigt will finally cease and desist. But I don’t hold out much hope. He has harrassed so many people, citizens, elected officials, he’s just an evil man. Go away Voigt, go back under the rock that you crawled out from.
Wow, like we said in the past some of these Past council members cause a lot of trouble in the town. Just like we said a few days ago with people calling the shots from behind the curtain. Amazing
Matt is a class act and an honest man. He will weather this. He is head and shoulders above that asshole Voigt. Literally and figuratively
This news is just amazing, can you imagine things that were said in the past that could’ve been false that slipped through The cracks at Village Hall , and caused a tremendous amount of problems for individuals. This is why we need to be very cautious going forward regarding information that we hear from Village hall or any other individual from the Village. Because they’re known to shoot from the hip before all real and true facts come out. And then when they’re called out they put their head in the sand like an ostrich. My oh my.
Betting Jeff Voigt has had a crappy 24 hours.
I certainly hope he is experiencing some anxiety over the public disclosure of his mid deeds which are too numerous to list. I hope he is sued for defamation of character which in many incidents were bold face lies. He won’t go away because vengeful people never stop.
Believe me Voigt won’t take this sitting down. His evilness will rise again. Soon
Following Mr. Rogers’ comments last night, the “inaccurate and misleading” letter to the editor from Jeff Voigt was removed from the website on which it had been posted by an employee of the website. Does anyone know if Jeff removed it from his Facebook page?
Whatever credibility Mr. Voigt had left is gone. His future letters to the editor will be trashed on arrival.
Councilman Mike Sedon was spot on when he asked if the town should sue Voigt.
Boy oh boy we had some real troubles with some of these nut jobs people voted into these positions.

A glimpse of the sedon we used to know. Hope we see more of the real mike. His new alliances are bad.
