Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Maroons were looking for revenge over the Passaic Tech Bulldogs for their defeat at the hands of the Bulldogs in the the North 1, Group 5 semifinals last season, Ridgewood came out on top with a 12-7 win over Passaic Tech in a battle of undefeated squads despite losing senior quarterback Jack Forech to injury in the second quarter.

Ridgewood jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. After starting its second possession of the game on the Passaic Tech 42, the Maroons took advantage of both a face mask and pass interference penalties to move deep into Bulldogs territory. On third-and-two from the 10, Forech used a play-action fake and found Brendan Chanley wide open for a 10-yard touchdown.
In a game where defense was front and center, Passaic Tech recording five first-half sacks and Ridgewood picking up three sacks of its own.
The Ridgewood defense only allowed one first down in the entire first half and only allowed 17 total yards to the Bulldogs. The Passaic Tech defense matched the Ridgewood defense by only allowing 32 total yards to the Maroons going into halftime.
Ridgewood led 10-0 with 52 seconds left remaining in the third quarter. Jack Schultz opened the second half with an interception for Ridgewood, giving the team good field position again at the Passaic Tech 44. With Forech out of the game with an ankle injury, backup quarterback Jay Wittmack had his big moment on third-and-10 after the first two plays of the drive went nowhere.
Wittmack found Chanley wide open on a play-action after the Passaic Tech defender fell down and Brendan Chanley, made his way down the 10-yard line for a 34-yard completion leting Matthew Schwindt connect on a 24-yard field goal.
Cashmere Jones got the Bulldogs back in it with a big kick return all the way down to the Ridgewood 40. Jones then rushed for 11-yards and then a 13-yard touchdown rush up the middle to make it a 10-7 game with 10:15 left in the fourth quarter.
Ridgewood forced a safety to go up 12-7 with 8:13 remaining. The Bulldogs got the ball back again with 3:02 remaining, but did not pick up a first down and Ridgewood closed it out with an interception by Preston Stott.
