Ridgewood NJ, during Wednesday evening’s Ridgewood Village Council Public Work Session, Ridgewood Deputy Mayor Pamela Perron criticized a citizen who used the word shyster to describe Peter Primavera, a historic preservation consultant who the Village Council is considering hiring.

The citizen used the word shyster based on a published newspaper article in which Mr. Primavera admitted to lying about his educational credentials while testifying under oath during two (2) Planning Board hearings in Edison, NJ on March 30 and June 10, 1987 (the Deputy Mayor indicated she had received a copy of the article from a resident and read it).

Although the newspaper article reported Middlesex County, NJ law enforcement authorities had conducted an investigation of Mr. Primavera’s testimony, the Deputy Mayor alleges that she found no record of any criminal charges having been brought against him in connection with the incident. Thus, in her opinion, the use of shyster to describe Primavera’s professional reputation was uncalled for, and bordered on defamation of character.

Frankly, based upon Mr. Primavera’s own admission that he lied under oath, our staff believes the word shyster fits perfectly, and can’t understand why Deputy Mayor Perron pitched a snit fit about its use. Perhaps this was nothing more than a lame attempt by Ms. Perron to deflect attention away from the Ridgewood Village Council’s abject failure at properly vetting an intended provider of professional services. Yep; that’s it. Gotcha Pam!

  1. Is someone who agrees with a compromise plan on Schedler but then changes her position when a new council is elected a shyster? Let me know, I don’t want to defame anyone’s character or lack thereof.

  5. And the other nut job Siobhan didn’t even know there had been a printed meeting agenda on which the hiring of Primavera was noted. Blondie claimed they had not decided yet.

  8. The guy is a shyster. Plain and simple. No other word fits. And Pam was defending him still. Saying he’s innocent until proven guilty. He has already admitted his guilt. On numerous charges.

  9. Hey Pam if a person had 10 arrest for theft but no conviction would you still hire them to work in you home?

  13. Right Pam. No record of a conviction, so you go ahead and hire him. Let us know how that works out. He looks like a swell guy.

  15. We thought Siobhan would be the first in a straight-jacket babbling incoherently. Now it appears they will be removing Pam first. She has lost her marbles.

    1. They are in Florida

  17. Why was she defending the guy? What possible reason? Is she paid to defend him in court. For gods sake, Pam, he would be a horrible hire. NEXT

  18. Tom Hanks is going to speak at the Harvard commencement. This will not make him a Harvard graduate. Hear that Pasta Primavera????

  19. Is Pam Perron going to ignore the fact that the SHYSTER confessed to all of it? The obsession is chronic and resulting in blindness.

  20. The Deputy Mayor has a bad case of “delicate sensitivities”. This is not a great disposition to own when endeavoring to serve the citizens of Ridgewood. Does she not understand her job description? Arrogance and disdain for her electorate oozes from her shrill voice.

  21. I don’t understand.

  22. She certainly is shrill. She is very easy to wind up.

  23. Pam is a b#€ch with an attitude

    1. I do not agree with her decisions on the Council but she is actually a nice person . . . at least to me and we have had our share of disagreements. She may seem overly forthright, abrupt and off-putting to those who are thinner skinned.

  24. Let’s see what happens, time will tell. All I know is I’m running out of popcorn.
Now back to Ridgewood, can the mayor and council do their job, and get the Dpw to fill potholes, and sweep the streets, because they are filthy, but that looks like crap

  25. Yeah the consultant definitely sounds like a crumb bum along with those 2 idiot baseball parents who did nothing but babble on about field use , lack of, yada, yada and such whining. This is all you care about and I cannot image how you are teaching your children availability, that you have to go to the next town to play. Then you drag to these meetings on a school night to create sympathy toward the one and only goal you have. What kind of values are you teaching your children. Shame on all of you.

  26. Let’s call him something else, but not a sheister. He is also not an attorney but he may play one on TV.

  27. Hey council it’s time for you guys to make a trip to all the town departments at 7am. To see what the heck is happening. And do it at surprise timing and day. Get involved. And screw the Faulkner act .we don’t care.
