Ridgewood NJ, just when we thought we’d heard it all, several people who listened in on Tuesday morning’s open Zoom meeting of Ridgewood’s joint BOE/VOR Fields Committee emailed us to report that during the meeting, Parks, Recreation and Conservation Board Chairman Richard Brooks publicly trashed unnamed individuals who “don’t pay taxes,” but make use of Ridgewood’s parks.
In response to Mr. Brooks’ rather brazen comment, we can only think of one thing to say – “Ain’t that the pot calling the kettle black.”
The insanity never seems to end. Help me Rhonda!

That’s funny…we call that irony.
What a sanctimonious jerk. The amount of taxes that he HAS NOT PAID is more than my salary
There are 47 thousand reasons why that is ironic.
Guy needs to be removed as lax/soccer coach
Must be removed from all village positions.
I got to tell you the sports groups are out of control. You don’t want what them higher outside contracts to handle all the sports functions. That’s all it’s ridiculous.
Huh ??
What?

He owes Ridgewood almost $50,000 in back property taxes.
Doesn’t the lien mean that the debt has been paid to the town (and is therefore no longer in arrears) and the amount is now owed to the lien holder at 10% interest?
Property is scheduled for a tax lien sale on October 25, 2023.
Is he okay? I don’t understand how he could even say that out loud?
We should charge a permit fee to use the fields just like we do for tennis or pickleball. Nothing is free anymore
Pee Wee and his playhouse gang have been quiet this week.
Should we be nervous…?
I thnk he’s talking about travel teams that utilize the fields. these non tax-paying teams funded the lights at maple among other projects. just fix the fields faster, please. village and BOE should have a contractor on call for remediation.
