Ridgewood Nj, “Smooth Sailing,”the 78th production of the Ridgewood High School Jamboree raised over $244,000 for this year’s RHS graduating Seniors.

The producers posted the following in a Facebook post:
Thank You, Ridgewood!
We would like to extend our immense gratitude to the Ridgewood Public Schools, the Village of Ridgewood, and the community at large, for supporting “Smooth Sailing,” the 78th production of Ridgewood High School Jamboree, on February 8, 9, and 10, 2024 at Benjamin Franklin Middle School. Over $244,000 raised for this year’s RHS graduating Seniors!
Since 1947, Jamboree’s mission has been to raise money for need-based college scholarships for Ridgewood High School’s graduating seniors, and our primary fundraising initiative is our original musical revue which is written, produced, and performed entirely by Ridgewood parent volunteers.
This year’s cruise-themed Smooth Sailing had one of the largest casts & crew to date with over 200 volunteers working tirelessly to bring the show to life. We owe a debt of gratitude to everyone involved and extend additional thanks to our Set Designer Claus Rademacher, Dance Director Holly Cocuzzo; Music Director Lisa S. Musawwir Plasse From The Top Music Studio in Midland Park; and Director Dana McCullen Feeney, each of whom worked tirelessly over the past year to make “Smooth Sailing” a success.

Thanks to the generosity and support of our local businesses, residents, and community organizations, as well as our underwriters, Silver Falls and Megan and Maureen Bisgrove, this year’s Jamboree fulfilled its mission and raised over $244,000 for need-based scholarships for RHS graduating seniors! We ask that readers please take a moment to view the Smooth Sailing online journal available on rhsjamboree.org and make it a point to frequent the businesses who support the Jamboree cause and our kids year after year. In addition, we would like to thank the Village of Ridgewood Fire Department and Ridgewood Police Department, Ridgewood High School, Benjamin Franklin Middle School staff and teachers; the Board of Education; and Ridgewood Public Schools for their continued support.
Thank you again to the incredible cast and crew of Smooth Sailing and to everyone in Ridgewood. We were proud to serve as “Captains” of this incredible organization for the past year.

I’m hoping some of the scholarships are available to those who choose not to be indoctrinated into wasteful college leftist ideology, and make a common-sense choice to attend a vocational or technical school.
How about just saying, “thank you” or not commenting at all.
You are correct.
If you do not agree with the approved narrative, you need to be silenced.
Of course not, those losers don’t count.
They say the scholarship is for need based students, but very often it’s given to the inner circles of Jamboree.
Also, does anyone know what goes on at the (& after) the ‘after parties’?
What happens in Jamboree stays in Jamboree.
Yes it stays in Jamboree but it’s not a good role model for the kids!
that is really nice for the kids that get some help with college expenses
“What goes on in the after parties?” It’s a party. These people work very hard to get the show off the ground. What are you after or insinuating?? You sound like a real loser. Where are are you getting your information?? “They say, (who?) that the scholarship money is given to the inner circle of Jamboree. Jamboree has been around for many years, and this year had a huge cast of enthusiastic parents or guardians. If you’re looking for something to complain about or criticize please devote your time into something else.
It is just one of long list of malcontents that comment negatively on just about everything.
Actually, it is probably a short list of malcontents who regularly comment negatively.
Yet another cliquey event brought to you by the same insular snobs who also run Dad’s Night
Must be from Travell…
Your comment proves his comment…
I attended Jamboree a few years ago and it was fun. I just never understood where the money goes. Children in need in RW? Nonsense. Money better should be spent in a bunch of other things or even towards that arts center so they can showboat as much as they want. But there is no transparency about who gets and why they deserve this money.
There is a bunch of nuts who use Jamboree as their personal property. You see how they behave and how they still play when they got no kids in RHS. This year I saw a couple of olden ladies with their new boyfriends who are not even from RW.
Also wokeness has gotten into their head. I am surprised they haven’t yet included BLM of LGBT stuff into this show. Matter of time.
Exactly. What children in need? In need of a new Tesla? And yet that misses the point somewhat. If you have money, and you want more money, the best money to spend is someone else’s.
With college costing $60K/year, there are PLENTY of families in Ridgewood who could use some scholarship money. Needs based does not mean indigent. Why turn this into a bad thing (I never participated in Jamboree and my kids did not get any $$ but I still think this is a good thing).
Send them to a cheaper college, Einstein. Or do you think you’re entitled to handouts?
Need based should be truly need based. Those who have connections don’t have more need!
People need to stop giving money to American universities and stop encouraging young adults to go.
