Glen Rock NJ, last week, Glen Rock police responded to three separate incidents involving men found lying on the ground, two of which involved the same individual.

The first incident occurred on Tuesday, August 13, at 10:22 p.m., when a concerned citizen reported seeing a man lying beside the road on Doremus Avenue near Faber Field. Upon arrival, police discovered a 37-year-old man from Hawthorne who was “in a highly intoxicated state and unable to care for himself.” Officers contacted a friend who agreed to take responsibility for him, safely assisting the man into the friend’s vehicle. No further assistance was required.

Just two days later, on August 15 at 12:04 a.m., police were called back to the 500 block of Doremus Avenue for a similar report. This time, an ambulance was also dispatched. Upon arrival, officers found the same man, once again in a highly intoxicated state. Although he declined medical care, officers worked with the Hawthorne Police Department to identify his residence. He was eventually transported home and left in the care of his family.

The third incident took place the following evening, on August 16, at 8:05 p.m. Police were called to the New Jersey Transit Main Line Train Station after a commuter reported a man lying near the railroad tracks. Officers found a 41-year-old man from Fair Lawn who was intoxicated. The man explained that he had fallen asleep on the train and accidentally gotten off at the wrong stop. He also declined medical assistance. A sober friend arrived to take him home, ensuring his safe return.

  1. Don’t forget the homeless who wander around town in the early morning, or camp out at the main line station, or set up housekeeping in the parking lot or in the little bus station by borough hall

    1. Send in the bowhunters, maybe?

  2. Those guys are lucky they fell asleep on the ground in safe places.
