Ridgewood NJ, as Election Day approaches and mail-in ballots are already being returned in large numbers, new polling data reveals growing concerns among Americans about the integrity of the voting process. According to a recent Gallup Poll, only 57% of Americans feel very or somewhat confident that their votes will be accurately cast and counted this year. Even more concerning, 19% of respondents say they have no confidence in the accuracy of the vote—a significant jump from just 6% in 2008.

Partisan Divide and Rising Distrust

The issue is especially polarized along party lines, but distrust extends beyond partisan politics. A notable 47% of independents and 21% of Democrats share concerns that “people using illegal or fraudulent means to cast invalid votes” is a real issue. These numbers suggest that voter confidence is eroding across the political spectrum, despite efforts by some media outlets to downplay election integrity concerns.

Real Instances Fueling Distrust

Recent actions by state governments are adding fuel to the fire. In Virginia, Governor Glenn Youngkin removed 6,303 noncitizens from the voter rolls who had either “accidentally or maliciously attempted to register” to vote. Similarly, in Texas, Governor Greg Abbott announced the removal of over one million individuals from the state’s voter rolls, including people who had moved out of state, were deceased, or otherwise ineligible to vote. Among those removed were 6,500 potential non-citizens, 1,930 of whom had previously voted.

These actions have heightened awareness of potential vulnerabilities in the voting system, even as some lawmakers push back on implementing stricter voter ID laws. For example, Congress has repeatedly voted down proposals for voter ID requirements, with President Joe Biden asserting that there is no significant voter fraud to prevent.

A Growing Demand for Election Reform

The American public is increasingly calling for an electoral process they can trust. As more voters express doubt in the integrity of the system, the pressure to enact reforms and restore confidence is likely to intensify. Election integrity is a fundamental issue that impacts the very foundation of democracy, and the latest Gallup poll suggests that the confidence gap is widening.

In the lead-up to Election Day, one thing is clear: Americans deserve a voting process they can trust, and they are growing more vocal about their concerns that the integrity of that process is at risk.

  1. Democrats would never win another election were it not for control of almost all news and social media, academic indoctrination of young people, and most of all, cheating in elections. It’s pretty much got to the point where this cheating is openly justified as a way of preventing evil orange man from winning.

  2. Look, folks…………………..

If it’s maturity, accuracy, and honesty in an election you want, there is only one place to go these days…..

You local high school’s student council elections……………………….

  3. Blame democrats! Yes election 2020 was also infected with fraud. Evidence was there but liberal courts refused to hear cases. Democrats tried to lock up every Republican on the planet! Let’s all be sure that this will not happen again!

  4. The fraud is now baked in. Everything other than the old one person at a real voting booth stinks to high heaven. The more you introduce such things as no voter ID, mail-ins, and generally administrators with their own livelihoods at stake, you will end up like we are. It was crazy how those last second ballot boxes were presented in those 2020 swing states. Just the fact that Sleepy Joe got more African American votes than Obama is all the proof I need.
