Teaneck NJ, Authorities are investigating a tragic hit-and-run that claimed the life of a pedestrian in Teaneck on Thursday evening.
Incident Overview
Just before 7 p.m., Teaneck police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a pedestrian lying in the roadway near the intersection of Cedar Lane and Lincoln Place.
Upon arrival, officers determined that the individual had been struck by a vehicle, which fled the scene. The pedestrian was rushed to Holy Name Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after.
Investigation Underway
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and Teaneck Police Department are conducting a joint investigation into the incident. The identity of the victim is being withheld until their next of kin can be notified.
