Wyckoff NJ, Students at St. Elizabeth School in Wyckoff, NJ, recently had a thrilling visit from the Harlem Wizards, who delivered an inspirational pep talk while showing off their signature basketball tricks.

A Slam Dunk for Catholic Schools Week

The event was part of the Archdiocese of Newark’s participation in Catholic Schools Week, a nationwide celebration highlighting the values of faith-based education through meaningful activities, service projects, and interactive events.

During their visit, the Harlem Wizards entertained and motivated students with their high-energy performance and words of encouragement, reinforcing the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and a positive attitude.

Engaging Activities Across the Archdiocese

The Harlem Wizards’ visit was just one of the many activities that took place throughout the Archdiocese’s 67 schools. Other events included:

  • Sacred Heart School (Jersey City): Students assembled care packages for a local nursing home.
  • Corpus Christi School (Hasbrouck Heights): Students participated in a live game show experience.
  • Holy Trinity School (Westfield): Eighth graders visited a nursing facility, engaging residents with bingo and crafts.

Hundreds of students across Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Union counties participated in service projects that emphasized learning, community, and faith-driven values—principles that Catholic schools instill throughout the year.
