Ridgewood NJ, in response to allegations voiced by some residents during Wednesday night‘s Village Council meeting that Ridgewood officials are engaging in “shady“ activities related to the Schedler property’s future configuration/use, Village Manager Keith Kazmark cited his own definition of “shady.“
Mr. Kazmark said publicly that he considered it “shady” that neither his predecessor, nor any professional staff members at Village Hall, were aware that someone had filed an application with the State of NJ to designate the Schedler property as historic. That application was ultimately approved, much to the chagrin of current Village Council members.
Since the application in question was signed by the Chair of Ridgewood’s Historic Preservation Commission, all of whose members are appointed by the Village Council, and a member of the Council always serves as liaison to the Commission, perhaps the individuals referenced by Mr. Kazmark as having been unaware of the application were just clueless/asleep at the switch?
Let’s face it folks, there are bad managers out there and we’re pretty sure that the Village of Ridgewood employs their fair share. We say chalk this “lack of awareness” issue up to poor management/supervision.
As for Mr. Kazmark’s “shady” remark, we suggest that he refrain from publicly making such accusations unless/until he has the facts to support same.

Seems that this current village manager is quite comfortable lobbing accusations at the public while unable to get information from his own staff. That is pretty shady if you ask me.

Talk about shady how the hell did a for profit private business get into a green acres park, Habernickel??? How about that? Let’s tell the public is a non profit! Let’s tell the public its shared venture! Let’s tell the public it will be supervised daily by the town! Let’s tell the public that it is good for the town, it’s a private business, it’s only good for the owner! Let’s collect 4 million dollars of NJ tax payers dollars and run it through it???? So either the previous administration wasn’t aware and was asleep at the wheel, or was aware and was complicit. Either way it put the Village in a box where making any progress of any kind on that park is extremely difficult with unnecessary bureaucratic hoops.
Actually I think that is an incorrect statement. If the village had put a small field and a nice park, it probably would have been done. Because they hired a shady consultant and acted shady and went with their bigger is better plan, that is what got us into this mess. The contaminated soil probably wouldn’t even have been discovered. I guess everything happens for a reason. now the ineptitude of the village is on display for everyone to see. The county and the state are all probably shaking their head..

Kazmark needs some shady shade on his head. It turns beer red when he is backed into a corner from his lies.
Vagianos and his four puppet council members are still working behind the scenes to fit a FULL SIZE TRUF field at that property.
The “shady” behavior is coming from them. They “informed” the DEP about contamination of the soil at the burm. Now, the plan is to remove the burm for a very minor contamination. That will allow them to put a full size field there.
This will cost millions of dollars to tax payers.
And their engineering form is so coached. Who is paying their bill. Oh yeah, Ridgewood.
I think Kazmark is doing a great job. He is communicative and seems pretty proactive. He got the Army Corps of Engineers on the flooding case and that is a big win. As for the fact that he says what is on his mind? Uh, this is New Jersey- this is how we roll.

He gave Healthbarn a pavilion that is supposedly for residents. Ha!

What will he be running for next. Only got the Army corps because residents homes were flooded out badly and residents were clamoring for solutions when nothing has been done for years. This is not an act of heroism, it is his job. This is all a lay up to the next political position that he undertakes. After all he was a mayor and is connected and has many political ties. He will bankroll the high paying Village manager position until he is ready to make a move. Just watch.
Shady is mayor interruptus constantly chiming in with his ridiculous tactics to try to trip people up. how come we can hear them but the mayor cannot? Really. Does he think he will trip people up by constantly interrupting them while they are speaking? The rest of the clowns are shady as are their dealings, but we’ve known that for a long time.
I’m glad this is going to cost millions of dollars, we know exactly who’s going to pay the bill. Maybe the insurance company my pay partial, maybe some of it will come from the town, maybe some of it don’t float a bond, maybe they can get some money from the county or the state or maybe even a big donation from the sports group. But I love it because don’t get mad at me and put thumbs down. Be upset with the people that were in charge. They supposed to know know how, and we are talking about the ex-manager, the current director of engineering and Dpw, they should be fired. Let’s see you as the balls because if they were working at a private sector, they would be gone. Can you imagine telling this to Donald Trump? You know what he would say you’re fired get out you dumb truckers and guess what it may sound harsh, but like the president said he signed the bill freedom of speech baby, if you don’t like it, go buy a box of tissues. Just like the manager said in the water department to someone he told another employee that he couldn’t use the word angry can you imagine that. Can you imagine how parents his kids they must be real you know what.
Ridgewood didn’t mind that the house was deemed historic and bought the property to use as open space with a small field and park which over the years morphed into a giant turf field with this council trying to convince the public this was how it was to be all along. Wrong. Grant money was taken by pretty much anyone who would give it. However, this council would have you believe that this was the intent all along but once again, they are lying and manipulating details. Winograd’s own husband was part of a commission to work on a reasonable plan for passive and active recreation and settled on a small field which is also the campaign that Ms. Winograd ran on before she switched which was her plan all along. Please don’t let any of these people fool you into believing their tale tales because they have been plotting and scheming before Vagianos was even mayor. They are all hoping that you buy their double talk and don’t pay attention and then make decisions that cost everyone in Ridgewood in either bonds or a nice tax bill.

Kazmark needs to check his humongous ego at the door before taking his seat on the dais for these meetings. Did he not understand Ridgewood’s issues, a near miss furlough, systemic problems for years, rogue employees, were these not disclosed when Vagianos recruited him? He seems to be really angry a good amount of the time and has blown his yop more than once. maybe he thought he’d waltz in, snap his fingers and magically fix the village’s issues but maybe he didnt realize that this council creates their own set of problems, some that may never be fixed. None of them are respected by persons without a vested interest.
This council has already had a long history with ethical ambiguity so why should we believe anything they have to say or the Village Manager who marches to the beat of their drum.
They just need to come clean regarding the contaminated soil on W. River Rd. enough is enough already
