Glen Rock NJ, heavy law enforcement presence descended on a quiet Glen Rock neighborhood on Thursday, May 29, as Bergen County’s Regional SWAT team and Glen Rock Police executed a search warrant at a home in the 200 block of Cornwall Road.
The operation was part of an investigation into a violent road rage incident in which a suspect allegedly brandished a firearm during a confrontation.
Road Rage Leads to SWAT-Involved Arrest in Glen Rock
According to Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann, the incident occurred on Wednesday, May 28, when a 59-year-old Fair Lawn man called 911 after being aggressively tailed by a black 2-door Infiniti while driving into Glen Rock.
The victim said the vehicle blew through a stop sign and pulled over on Cornwall Road, where two men exited and approached him. One of the men reportedly knocked the victim’s phone from his hand. The second suspect, wearing a tan hoodie, allegedly brandished a fanny pack, stated “I have a gun in here”, and smashed the car’s passenger side mirror with it before fleeing.
Arrest Made After Investigation
Glen Rock Officer Sarah Orsita and Detective Sgt. James Calaski identified Gregory T. Delgato, 28, of Emerson, as a suspect using surveillance footage and witness testimony.
The following day, SWAT officers joined local police to execute the search warrant at the Cornwall Road home. One individual was arrested and handcuffed at the scene, while another person was seen being transported in a police vehicle.
The Infiniti involved in the incident was impounded and towed to Glen Rock Police HQ.
Charges Filed Against Suspect
Delgato was charged with the following offenses:

Possession of an Imitation Handgun During a Crime – N.J.S.A. 2C:29-4E

Aggravated Assault – Pointing Firearm – N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1B(4)

Terroristic Threats – Threat to Kill – N.J.S.A. 2C:12-3B

Criminal Mischief – N.J.S.A. 2C:17-3A(1)
No firearm was recovered at the scene, according to police.
Delgato was processed at Glen Rock Police Headquarters and transported to the Bergen County Jail pending a court appearance in Hackensack.
