FAIRVIEW, NJ — anti-ICE protests in Fairview turned chaotic Saturday afternoon when a vehicle plowed into a group of protesters, injuring several participants. The Fairview Police Department has identified the driver as Linda Roglen, 62, of North Bergen. Roglen now faces multiple criminal charges and traffic violations following the disturbing incident.
🚨 What Happened?
The incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of Fairview and Anderson Avenues, where protesters were gathered in the crosswalk, temporarily halting traffic. According to Fairview Police Chief Vincent Bellucci, a verbal confrontation broke out between Roglen and a protester. Witnesses reported that the situation escalated rapidly.
Gabriel Mayen, an eyewitness and employee at a nearby pizza shop, began recording the rally due to its proximity. He captured the moment of conflict.
“I don’t know what they said, but they just say something to each other and he spits in her face,” Mayen told reporters.
Moments after the assault, Roglen allegedly accelerated her vehicle, striking multiple protesters who had surrounded her car. The video, which has since circulated widely on social media, shows demonstrators being hit and thrown to the ground as the car pushes forward.
⚖️ Charges and Violations
Roglen has been charged with four counts of assault by auto resulting in bodily injury, a criminal offense. She is also facing the following motor vehicle violations:
-
Careless Driving
-
Reckless Driving
-
Failure to Stop for a Pedestrian in a Crosswalk
-
Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Injuries
-
Failure to Report a Motor Vehicle Crash
Police say the investigation is ongoing, and further charges may be filed depending on the extent of the victims’ injuries and additional witness testimony.
🏥 Victim Conditions & Community Reaction
Several protesters were treated at the scene and transported to local hospitals. Their conditions have not been publicly disclosed but were reported to include non-life-threatening injuries. Community organizers have condemned the incident and are calling for accountability.
The rally was organized to protest U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) policies and advocate for immigration reform.
📢 Statement from Fairview Police
Chief Bellucci emphasized that public demonstrations must remain safe spaces, and that violence against protesters will not be tolerated.
Anyone who witnessed the event or has video footage is urged to contact the Fairview Police Department to aid in the ongoing investigation.
No word on charges against protesters or protecting the public at large .

Nice to see white Americans standing up for themselves. Illegal and black fatigue is growing. Only people contributing to society should be able to vote.
Looks to me that at age 62, she had genuine fear of death or serious injury from a threatening crowd.
She had no duty to retreat as there was no way she could disengage in complete safety.
The folks who set up these “protests” should bear the responsibility as initial aggressors.
See Soros, George.
Congratulations for being a racist
Good! Protest peacefully on the sidewalk is your right not in the middle of the street being antagonistic! Authorities are at fault for letting the rioters get their way!
A message to Fairview police safe spaces are on the sidewalk! Not infringing the rights of everyone else!
So what happens to the person who spit at her, are they going to have to get a blood test to rule out disease?
Probably an award.
Florida sheriffs and their AG have it correct. Just drive through them. The woman is 62 years old, she was spat at, frightened, and left the scene. Only in Blue State s like NJ. Sad. Frankly, I’d have done the same.
Immigration is a weapon upon all countries. It is done to prevent cohesion of people and to create problems amongst eachother while those doing it steal everything from you.
Sorry media, but I’m on HER side. ENOUGH of these protests and blocking of traffic!
