PARK RIDGE, NJ — It was anything but an ordinary Saturday morning for Park Ridge Police, Montvale Police, and a few surprised hotel guests, when two runaway horses were spotted trotting freely along Brae Boulevard on August 9, 2025.
According to the Park Ridge Police Department, Officers Stowe, Davies, and Sgt. Puglis responded quickly after receiving reports of the animals at large. With the help of Montvale Police and a quick-thinking hotel guest, the group successfully wrangled the horses and safely returned them to their owner without injury.
Authorities have not disclosed how the horses managed to escape, but the incident was resolved smoothly thanks to teamwork and quick action from both departments — and a little community spirit.
The Park Ridge Police Department took the opportunity to thank their partners at the Montvale Police Department for their assistance, proving once again that cooperation makes all the difference — whether it’s solving a case or saving a couple of adventurous horses.
