Here we go again.
Ridgewood NJ, several Ridgewood residents have recently informed us that posted Facebook comments critical of local government are routinely being deleted from official Village Facebook pages. Such action appears to be a clear violation of New Jersey’s Open Public Records Act.
Previously, The Ridgewood Blog reported that two official Village of Ridgewood Facebook pages had been scrubbed of photos and references to a former parking enforcement agent who was arrested on child pornography charges. And we have not forgotten about the Village Council member whose official Facebook page is no longer visible, but reportedly hasn’t been altered or deleted. Clearly, another Open Public Records Act violation.
History has repeatedly proven that attempts on the part of public officials to control the message by covering up dissent always backfire. Doesn’t anyone at Village Hall read history books?
Please, let’s just stop this nonsense and permit freedom of speech on all official Village of Ridgewood social media pages.

That’s typical of Ridgewood, isn’t it amazing that we have mayors, council members, managers, that come and go and the same decision decisions are still being done the same way. So that tells you that the powers will be behind the curtain are the ones running things. Because from my experience in the past 30 years, this group is always scared of someone. So that tells you that someone else is running the show. And I heard this back in the mid 80s and you know what from what I seen, and what I heard, This shits been going on for a long time. So obviously, and I really do respect a word obviously, there’s a play book that’s hidden somewhere in the archives. And it comes out every once in a while. And you know what it is true the politics in the village are very unique, and I must say it’s a shame because such dirty business going on. I never seen such a sneaky way doing business. At least six days of the week, but not on a Sunday. That’s because you know why, they are hypocrites.
