Ridgewood NJ, on September 18, 2025, a cable TV installer suffered severe injuries after plummeting 20 feet face-first from a ladder on Manor Road in Ridgewood, NJ. Swift action by Ridgewood Fire Department and EMS ensured the victim was rushed to a local hospital, while OSHA was called to investigate.

The Incident: Cable Installer’s Terrifying Fall

At approximately 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025, Ridgewood Police responded to a distressing workplace accident on Manor Road. A cable TV installer, working at height, fell 20 feet from a ladder, landing face down and sustaining serious injuries. Ridgewood Fire Department and EMS, backed by the Professional Firefighters FMBA Local 47, quickly transported the victim to a nearby hospital. Ridgewood Police Patrol Division called in OSHA representatives to investigate the incident, highlighting the severity of the fall and the need for safety scrutiny.

Falls from ladders are a leading cause of workplace injuries, with OSHA reporting over 300 ladder-related deaths annually nationwide.

  1. “quickly transported the victim to a nearby hospital”. Valley? If spelled out, Valley Hospital would have been about the same number of letters! What WOULD have been a 5-minute hospital run years ago is now a 10-15 minute run to Paramus, if it were Valley. This hospital should still be in Ridgewood. Shameful.

  2. Blame the top village officials for voting it down. Remember the village has no power over Valley hospital in selling that piece of land and building, or donating it to the state or county and use it for low income housing. Oh yes.
