Shock U-Turn: Facing Pressure from His Own Party, President Trump Backs Legislation to Release Full Jeffrey Epstein Files

WASHINGTON D.C. – In a stunning reversal, President Donald Trump announced Monday that he would sign legislation to release files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, signaling a shift in his administration’s handling of the long-running, politically charged scandal.
When questioned by reporters, the President confirmed, “Sure I would,” if the bill were to reach his desk, urging Congress to proceed: “Let the Senate look at it. Let anybody look at it.”
The statement marks a significant change in stance after months of resistance from the administration and House Republican leadership to a bipartisan legislative push for transparency.
Forced Vote Spurs Presidential Flip
The President’s sudden change of course follows the successful advancement of the “Epstein Files Transparency Act” (introduced by Reps. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., and Ro Khanna, D-Calif.) in the House.
Supporters successfully used a discharge petition—a rarely utilized procedural tool—to force a vote on the bill, circumventing House leadership’s initial opposition. With the petition reaching the required 218 signatures last week, the House is now set to vote, likely this week.
Facing a near-certain House vote that would be supported by a significant number of Republicans, President Trump pivoted to fully backing the release.
Shifting the Blame: A “Democrat Hoax”
While agreeing to sign the legislation, President Trump simultaneously sought to pivot the political narrative, dismissing the entire saga as a distraction:
“It’s really a Democrat problem,” he claimed. “The Democrats were Epstein’s friends, all of them. And it’s a hoax, the whole thing is a hoax.”
The President also took to social media, urging his party to vote for the release because, as he wrote, “we have nothing to hide, and it’s time to move on from this Democrat Hoax… in order to deflect from the Great Success of the Republican Party.”
This move attempts to placate a segment of his base and key allies, including Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Thomas Massie, who had been actively leading the charge for transparency and are scheduled to host Epstein survivors at the Capitol ahead of the vote.
What Happens Next?
The Epstein Files Transparency Act is now expected to pass the House with strong bipartisan support. It compels the Justice Department to release all files and communications related to Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, with allowances for redacting information to protect victims.
The key uncertainty lies in the Senate, where the bill must clear the 60-vote filibuster threshold. If the bill passes both chambers, the President’s public pledge suggests he would sign it into law, potentially revealing thousands of pages of Justice Department documents that have previously been withheld.

It’s an American problem and not a hoax.
Donald Trump had beautiful women throwing themselves at him, he didn’t need some teenage tart giving him a massage.
Democrats fell right into this trap , looks like the end of the De;mocrtic Party
trump will only release certain files that contain names of his enemies…. he will not release any files with his name in them..
if there were Trump files Biden would have released them long ago
I’ll believe it when, and if, it happens.
It’s a red herring…nothing there.
