Critics Call the Mid-block Crosswalk a Traffic Hazard

Ridgewood NJ, the lack of warning signage/devices at the new mid-block crosswalk near Tatte Cafe is a lawsuit in the making.
Drivers aren’t expecting a crosswalk at this location. Why are there no high visibility lights or signs in place to warn drivers? Who is responsible for this inexcusable disaster?
A broken part from a vehicle suggests someone has already rammed into one of the massive, seemingly camouflaged (no warning lights/paint/tape) concrete blocks blocking off parking spaces. Mid-block crosswalks at Graydon/Vets and the Library are properly identified. Why not this one?
Can we get it together before someone gets killed or maimed, please?

Village Manager claimed last night that the concrete blocks are designed to provide protection for pedestrians. The actual reason they are there is to block off parking spaces so no one can park in them. Let’s get our facts straight Keith.
An additional 1 or 2 parking spaces may be removed in order to keep this plan rolling. So said the Village manager at Wednesday nights, Village Council meeting.
Lot of energy being used here for a safety crosswalk. You ppl do realize there was nothing there before… Get a life clowns.
Beyond ridiculous just like our council, manager and engineer. Go back to Passaic county buddy , take the loser mayor with you and take your stupid ideas there!
Leave Ridgewood alone.
If you go up to Allendale, they have like a space and a half or two spaces on both sides of the crosswalk because they were having issues up there too. Check out their plan. Don’t know how it’s working.
