Traffic Nightmare on Paramus Road
The timing of the crash—occurring during the peak of the afternoon rush—created a perfect storm for local motorists. The wreckage blocked key lanes, resulting in:
-
Major Gridlock: Traffic backed up in both directions on Paramus Road.
-
Total Blockage: West Midland Avenue saw significant delays as police diverted cars away from the crash site.
-
Clean-up Efforts: Multiple flatbed tow trucks were required to remove the heavily damaged sedan and the PSE&G van from the intersection.
Ongoing Investigation
The Paramus Police Department took the lead on the scene, managing traffic control and launching an investigation into the cause of the collision. It has not yet been determined if weather, speed, or a signal violation played a role in the crash.
The intersection of Paramus Road and West Midland Avenue is known for high traffic volume, especially during the holiday season, and residents are urged to remain vigilant during peak travel hours.
