RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Safety first, Ridgewood! Due to the hazardous icy road conditions impacting the region this morning, Village Manager Keith Kazmark has announced a delayed opening for all non-emergency Village offices today, Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
Key Details for Residents:
-
Opening Time: Village offices will officially open at 10:00 AM.
-
Emergency Services: Police, Fire, and EMS remain fully operational and unaffected by the delay.
-
Safety Warning: Residents are urged to use extreme caution during the morning commute as black ice and slick spots persist.
Extended Weather Outlook: Snow and Rain Mix Incoming
The icy start to the week is just the beginning of a messy weather pattern for Bergen County. Here is what you can expect over the next few days:
Mid-Week Mess (Tuesday Night – Wednesday)
Expect clouds to increase tonight with a 50% chance of a snow/rain mix starting after 1:00 AM. While snow accumulation will be light (less than a half-inch), the transition to rain before 10:00 AM Wednesday could create slippery conditions for tomorrow’s morning drive. Wednesday’s high will reach a milder 42°F.
Rain Returns Thursday
Don’t put away the umbrella yet. Thursday brings a 60-70% chance of rain, primarily in the afternoon and evening. As temperatures hover near the freezing mark (32°F) overnight, we may see rain transition back into a light snow mix before Friday morning.
Clearing for the Weekend
The good news? The sun returns just in time for the weekend. Friday and Saturday look mostly sunny with highs near 40°F, offering a much-needed break from the precipitation.
