Ridgwood NJ, The race for the U.S. Senate in New Jersey just took a dramatic and controversial turn. Richard Tabor, a New Jersey State Trooper and Republican candidate, announced Wednesday that he has been suspended from his post—a move he claims is a politically motivated attempt to derail his campaign against incumbent Senator Cory Booker.

The suspension has ignited a debate over free speech, department regulations, and the high-stakes battle for the GOP nomination.

“They Are Afraid”: Tabor Claims Political Sabotage

In a viral social media post, Tabor didn’t hold back, alleging that the Democratic leadership in New Jersey is using his career as a weapon.

“Basically got told that because I’ve decided to run for U.S. Senate, they want to suspend me from work,” Tabor stated. “This is clearly a shot at me by the Democratic Party… because they do not want me to go against Cory Booker.”

Tabor, is  a “black man who thinks for himself,” argues that his perspective is exactly what the liberal establishment fears most. Despite the suspension, he reaffirmed his commitment to the race, stating he has no plans to back down.

The State’s Stance: Policy or Partisanship?

While Tabor frames the suspension as a targeted strike, there are long-standing regulations regarding law enforcement and political activity.

  • The Investigation: A State Police spokesperson confirmed to the New Jersey Globe that Tabor was the subject of an internal investigation.

  • The Rules: According to reports from New Jersey 101.5, former union officials have pointed out that New Jersey State Troopers are generally prohibited from running for public office while active in their roles.

The central question remains: Is this a routine enforcement of department policy, or is the timing—during a major election cycle—evidence of something more calculated?

The Road to the June 2nd Primary

Tabor is currently fighting for the Republican spot on the ballot in what is becoming a crowded and competitive field. To take on Cory Booker in November, Tabor must first win the June 2nd Republican Primary against:

  1. Alex Zdan: Former News 12 New Jersey reporter.

  2. Justin Michael Murphy: Former Tabernacle Deputy Mayor.

  3. Robert Lebovics: A prominent physician.

What Happens Next?

As the legal and professional battle unfolds, Tabor is leaning into his outsider status. “They wanted to suspend me so that I would stop running for the people,” he told supporters. “But I got news for you guys. I’m not going to stop.”

Whether the suspension bolsters his “anti-establishment” image or creates a permanent hurdle for his candidacy remains to be seen. One thing is certain: the eyes of New Jersey are now firmly fixed on this high-octane primary.

  1. Go Tabor !

  2. Democrats take the Black vote for granted and anyone who steps out of line and thinks for themselves is their target. They won’t allow any Black conservative or Republican to speak up without political attacks or retribution. This man has my vote. Spartacus has done NOTHING for NJ.

  3. As there is a clear prohibition, confirmed by his own union, against running for office, it doesn’t speak well of Tabor that he either was unaware of the prohibition or recklessly ignore it instead of taking a leave of absence. The current investigation of him for screwing up an accident investigation which may have contributed to the death of a motorist also calls into question his competence and judgment. This is not a band wagon I would be hopping on.

    1. Tks Cory

  4. if he was a democrat no body would say anything

  5. the fear of a black man who can think for himself …lol love it

  6. Although the majority of blacks vote D, there’s a growing trend where they are switching to R. The Democrat woke agenda turns blacks off, as well as the avalanche of undocumented migrants who obtain benefits, not to mention massively diluting the employment market.

  7. This Spartacus thing is extremely unnecessary.
