Ramapo Police Ask Public for Help Identifying Reckless E-Bike Riders

RAMAPO, N.Y. — The Ramapo Police Department is requesting the public’s help to identify two e-bike motorcycle riders who engaged in dangerous driving behavior, blocked emergency responders, and fled from law enforcement.
E-Bike Riders Block Police Yielding to Emergency Vehicles
On July 16, 2026, at approximately 3:54 PM, a Ramapo Police officer was driving eastbound on Route 59 in front of the 7-Eleven store. The officer attempted to move to the right lane to allow a Faist EMS ambulance responding to a medical emergency to pass safely.
Instead of yielding, two e-bike motorcycles illegally passed the police vehicle on the right side, blocking the officer’s path.
Reckless Driving and Pursuit Into Suffern
The dangerous behavior escalated as the riders continued onto Campbell Avenue, where one rider crossed over the double-yellow lines directly into oncoming traffic.
When the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop after the riders turned into Bon Aire, both individuals sped away, fleeing south on Bon Aire Circle toward the Village of Suffern. To prevent potential injury to the public and the riders, the officer terminated the pursuit.
