SADDLE RIVER, NJ — The Saddle River Police Department responded to reports of potential gunshots in the area of West Saddle River Road on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

Out of an abundance of caution, local law enforcement secured the scene and requested assistance from regional mutual aid partners, including the Bergen County Regional SWAT Team.

Investigation Finds No Threat to the Public

Following a thorough investigation on the scene, police determined that the loud noise was caused by a blown electrical transformer and not gunfire.
