Readers Voice concern over Village Planning Board Attorney’s Objectivity
-Thed
Of course Price will be handling Valley with kid gloves. According to her law firm’s website, she “…represents commercial, industrial, and residential developers in connection with land development and construction related issues.”
She’s not going to go against her main source of income representing developers to get projects approved. It’s like putting the fox in charge of the henhouse.
Aronsohn better show he “has a set” and run a fair hearing as mayor (yes I realize he’s not chairman but he should have significant influence and we’ll hold him accountable if these hearings go to hell again).
It is an insult to say that she can’t be fair because she also represents developers in her law practice. She has no conflict of interest in this case and she will do a great job.
She is a professional and has done nothing to deserve the accusation that she may not be fair.
Between her actions during the last hearing process 3 years ago and her totally improper actions 2 nights ago, it is clear she is not to be trusted.
She makes much more money representing private clients than the PB, so she clearly doesn’t have our interests at heart.
Keep an eye on her.
Allowing the valley attorney to push Mr. McKenna away from the microphone while Mr . McKenna was just asking a question of the PB at the designated time and Ms. Price’s pointing her finger at another resident did nothing to make anyone in the audience believe that Ms. Price is going to give the residents a fair shake.
I also remember at Renewal I a resident pointed out that the person sitting next to Ms. Meyers was the former Chairman of the PB who had authorized the previous Valley expansion so this might be the way to get your next job!
Are you saying that a planning board member who had voted for the expansion is now sitting with Ms Meyers at the meetings?
No at the first round of renewal a former resident got up and stated that the person sitting next to Ms. Meyers was the former head of the planning board who had authorized the previous expansion.
At the risk of being overly broad, for the pb, town council or any other commttee that rely’s on public funds. They have to hire within their means which is usually like someone hiring a part time public defender. the pd will do the basic job where someone who has a deeper war chest hires a better attorney and gets better representation. A smart attorney will do the best they can but not step on any toes for fear of back door retribution in the future, It could be as simple as a whisper in someones ear during hiring, or promotion, or case assignment if the attorney is at a firm. Needless to say this puts alot of pressure on the attorney in the fight.
I wasn’t there but my neighbor said that the new lawyer was odious.
ODIOUS- arousing or deserving hatred or repugnance.
I am not smarter than a 5th grader!
Ridewood YES! Valley NO.
Just put it to a Town Vote!
You will never find another lawyer with more integrity than Ms Price. The town hired the best, not let her do her job.
Wait correct my typo. …..now let her do her job.
Price was “Fox News” at the the last hearing – fair and balanced – NOT
She is a developers attorney not an attorney for the neighbors plain and simple.
Her job is to be objective and to make sure that the rules are followed. Allowing Valley’s attorney to storm the stage while someone is asking a question is not objective. If one of Valley’s opponents did the same to a Valley speaker, she would have had them removed.
How could she possibly be objective ? Based on her backround as a lawyer specializing in what she does, maybe she should be replaced for this particular situation. Is that possible ?
