The Ridgewood News
Some Ridgewood residents believe they are being left in the dark – literally and figuratively – about streetlight outages.
PSE&G officials insist the company fixes streetlight outages as quickly as possible, but some residents and village officials who report outages allege the utility company has been slow to make repairs.
Roger Wiegand, a 70-year resident, has been voluntarily surveying the village’s streetlights since the mid-1970s. He drives around Ridgewood about once a month and then reports dozens of outages to Ridgewood’s engineering division, which reports them to PSE&G.

Streetlights remain out for months at a time yet VC plays on. Ridgewood is beginning to resemble the Titanic more and more as each day passes. Aronsohn is a very poor leader.
it usually takes a few calls direct to PSEG to get off their ass and do something. The Ridgewood PD midnite shift should do this job and make note of lights not working.
call the police dept, they have the time.
There’s a streetlight out in front of my house. OMG this town is going down the drain. First the traffic in front of the schools in the morning, then there is a stone planter on Ridgewood Avenue, then the streetlights.
Roger is right to say something despite all the PSE&G denials , they don’t replace all the out of service street lights ,yet they charge the Village the same . This has been going on for years
Rob its a PSE&G issue , ripping off Ridgewood
The midnite shift does fill out a streetlite out form and it gets faxed to pseg but thats where it ends.
PJ, post my complete post, or not at all. Right at the top of your page: Laissez-faire means “Let them do”, or figuratively “leave it alone”. Really. Look it up.
