No Arrest Made in Bombing Investigation

Contrary to widespread reporting, no arrest has been made in connection with the Boston Marathon attack. Over the past day and a half, there have been a number of press reports based on information from unofficial sources that has been inaccurate. Since these stories often have unintended consequences, we ask the media, particularly at this early stage of the investigation, to exercise caution and attempt to verify information through appropriate official channels before reporting.
When a major bombing incident occurs, somebody always comes out to take credit for it, usually within 48hrs. If we look back over the last 40 years, the IRA, the Red Brigade, ETA and most recently Al-Qaeda, have all claimed responsibility for attacks that have resulted in thousands of lives being lost, even more ruined and an untold financial cost to the global economy.
Based on this, I think it can be safely assumed that the bombing of the Boston Marathon was not carried out by an international terrorist organization – otherwise we would have seen made aware of it through the international media outlets because there would have been some celebrations somewhere in the world.
So reading the latest reports on the Boston bombing has me a little a confused. An unofficial source within the FBI announced yesterday to the media that a suspect had been arrested for the bombing. It is obvious that this source (s) is highly reliable otherwise the media would not have announced the arrest to the world as they have “so called” reputations to think about. Then the official FBI statement announced that no suspect had been arrested for the bombing. Amid all the denials, the unofficial source maintains that a suspect was arrested and was due in court yesterday evening.
Now, a bomb threat was issued against the court house where the suspect was due to be arraigned and the court and surrounding buildings were evacuated while this bomb threat was being investigated. If there was no suspect arrested and no arraignment planned, why was this specific court house targeted? Anybody??
Now we have poison letters being sent in the immediate aftermath of this bombing. Think back to 9/11 and the days immediately following the attacks on New York and DC. Letters containing anthrax were sent to various parties in DC and New York. On Tuesday, letters containing ricin were sent to specific parties in DC. What is going here? Letter with highly toxic materials being sent again? We know that the anthrax sent in the immediate after of 9/11 came from the biodefense labs at Fort Detrick, Frederick, Maryland. There were two suspects in the anthrax attack. One was a bio-weapons expert by the name of Steven Hatfil and the other was a scientist at the lab by the name of Bruce ivins. Nothing was ever proven against either of these two suspects but Ivins did commit suicide in 2008 which enabled the FBI to place the blame for the anthrax attacks squarely on his shoulders without carrying out further investigations and the case was officially closed (without any conclusive findings) in 2010.
In 2011, the National Academy of Sciences published an article disputing the claims made by the FBI of Ivins involvement in the anthrax attacks which was refuted by the FBI, which stated that a “number” of factors led the FBI to “conclude” that Ivins was the guilty party behind the attacks.
But why would this super-nerdy scientist do this? There was never anything released about him that conveyed that he was anything but a guy who led a normal life in the Maryland suburbs. He was not a crazy freak out for revenge against something or someone – was he??? I don’t know.
In a lawsuit filed by one of the attack victim’s widow, Bob Stevens, the federal government settled the suit for $2.5m to avoid “further” litigation. Why would they have settle that so quickly without putting up a fight?
On October 10 and 11, 2001, 100 vials of anthrax stored at Iowa State University labs were destroyed under the direction of the FBI. Why? These had been collected over a period of 70 years and now, the FBI wanted them destroyed? Why?
The government wanted a link between the anthrax attacks and Al-Qaeda and so told the CIA and FBI to develop one – either blame Iraq or Al-Qaeda but blame one of them – was Bruce ivins working with any of these guys? Was there evidence that he was paid by either Iraq or Al-Qaeda? I don’t think so but I don’t know – and I guess we will never know.
In reference to the latest ricin attacks, the US produces weapons grade ricin and has done so for years. If you go back to both the world wars, the US government wanted to develop cluster bombs containing ricin to saturate enemy cities with it. The Soviet Union famously used ricin to kill Georgi Markov in 1978 while he was walking down a street in London. In typical cold-war fashion, he was struck with an umbrella in the leg, whose tip contained ricin. He died in hospital four days later.
There are so many similarities to so many events that the people of the US can’t just accept this as another terrorist event – there are so many questions to be answered and accepting the official government line is something that can not be acceptable.
Who was the guy with the beard wearing the cowboy hat that seemed to be controlling everything in Boston?
Why was there a bomb-drill in operation on the very day that there was a bomb attack in Boston?
Why were there “civilians” dressed in black jackets and khaki pants all carrying back packs around the finishing line of the Marathon leading up to and after the bombing?
Why has nobody claimed responsibility for the attack?
Why is the denial over the arrest of a suspect? We arrested someone, no we didn’t ,yes we did, no we didn’t – what is going on.
Three innocent people needlessly lost their lives on Monday. One of them was an 8 year old boy. Many more were injured and some will never recover from those injuries.
This was no tragedy and people should stop calling it that. This was murder on a scale caused to frighten the people of Boston in general and the people of the US as a whole but WHY?
Acceptance of this situation = SILENCE and we can’t accept to remain silent! Questions must be asked and answered!!!
#1: some small group decided it would be a good idea to make a statement in Boston on Monday. Could have been someone who identifies with AQ but has no direct ties, hence no claim of responsibility. Could have been a way to the right McViegh type or types. We don’t know, but given the abundance of video documentation of the day’s events, I think we’ll soon find out. For better or worse, times have changed, and if you are in a crowd at an event, your illusions of anonymity are gone.
Unfortunately, the state of our current cable “news” organizations is that they have all fired their actual reporters and hired experts and marketing people to develop sensational content in pursuit of page views and ad revenue. Their journalism consists of watching twitter, and each other’s broadcasts, and reporting the same unfounded rumors that the others are reporting, then dragging out some “expert” to bullshit about some related topic, like “how to use a pressure cooker to make an IED” or whatever. CNN attempted to get out ahead of that cycle yesterday by reporting an arrest, and stepped on their collective dicks in a big way. I hope they go under because of it. You would do well to avoid CNN, Fox, MSNBC etc. Stick to AP and Reuters, BBC, even Al Jareeza, who actually have reporters working for them.
As the original poster – how do you know it was “some small group” and I am assuming that is a guess on you part #2 by me asking that question. When a high-profile event is targeted, there is always a claim, when it comes to internationally recognized terrorist groups – the fact that there is no claim of responsibility says a few things – a) There is not internationally-linked group involved and no link to Al Qaeda. If a link was there, believe me, there would be a claim for this murderous event. b) It was home grown but what was the reason for it? c) There is a conspiracy that involves a number of high ranking officials and organizations within the US government. I don’t watch American news as I have not been in the States for a long time, let alone Ridgewood where I use to live. All the international news outlets, including the very informative Al Jareeza and the BBC reported the same news about the arrest. If, as you say, we will find out very soon because of the abundance of video documentation, why are the Federal authorities requesting all the photos and video footage that people shot on Monday? They have footage already from the very detailed CCTV footage in Boston – why request more? What I am saying is that Americans can’t live in a shell anymore – they have got to ask questions and just not accept the official line – Americans are not sheep and should not act like them.
So…you are saying that there is a possible govt conspiracy? What possible motive? Distract from the gun vote? Take L’il Kim out of the news cycle?
It is entirely possible that some random fundamentalist (muslim, christian, agnostic) did this on his / her own.
As for the government “asking for photos” that’s like me asking for the sun to rise in the morning. People put their stuff all over the net. CCTV footage is 1) video and 2) low resolution. Have you ever taken video at full high res for a couple minutes and looked at the file size? Do you think they can do that with multiple cameras 24 hours a day? The storage costs would be enormous. A well timed, well focused hi-res still shot would be a priceless missing link to attach recognizable facial features to a fuzzy image from CCTV.
There could be a government conspiracy but why? The gun vote? That only concerns the US, not the rest of the world! The crazy Kim in Korea? Not really as the US is powerless to stop him – without going into Korea but US global standing is not strong enough to support that – hence, for the first time ever that I can remember, the US asked China for “help” in curbing that little shit’s drive for power in Asia.
What it might be related to, the conspiracy that is, is the stupid move by the US to devalue to the price of gold and silver on the global markets. A number of states, whose gold and silver are held by the Federal Reserve, requested that they take control of their own gold and silver reserves. This would enable them to raise capital for very much needed state projects. The FR said “Fuck you” and they set about to devalue these metals so that the states that requested their gold and silver back would be left with useless amounts of these metals – they wouldn’t be able to raise a penny with them. What it did do was it increased the availability of gold on the international markets making it possible for international investors to buy US owned gold and prohibit the requesting states from obtaining it – look at the gold and silver price drops on Monday. Also, the US stock markets had their worst week in years last week and news was about to be released in regards to that – its news that the US can do without on the international front that might be the cause of this conspiracy. But I am not a conspiracy focused guy – I look at the facts and as I said in my initial post – questions need to be asked. The people of the US are not sheep!!!

No, it wasn’t a ruse to distract from a bad market report. If they did stuff like that, they would have had to level Chicago in 2008.
But we are not in 2008 – we are in 2013 – totally different time now – totally different government and totally different mindset
