Ridgewood NJ, The Ridgewood Village Council is poised to take a pivotal step regarding the historic Warner Theatre on East Ridgewood Avenue. The council is set to approve a $375,000 bond ordinance to secure an option to purchase property required for establishing a new Performing Arts Center (PAC).
When combined with an earlier $250,000 allocation toward the initiative, this vote pushes total taxpayer-funded commitments for the purchase option alone to $625,000.
While converting an iconic local cinema into a multi-use cultural hub excites many residents, it also raises critical questions about financial sustainability, competition, and long-term viability.

Paul Vagianos is pushing this just to increase foot traffic so his restaurant tenants get more business, which in turn will enable him to increase rents. It’s all about Paul putting more money in his pockets.
The Bergen PAC in Englewood is very close. And the NJPAC in Newark is easily reachable by public transportation. I see little to no need for this venue in Ridgewood.
Throwing away this money.
