FORT LEE, N.J. (AP) — The family of the Rutgers University student who killed himself after his roommate used a webcam to see him kissing a man will visit the scene of his suicide.
The public’s first glimpse of Tyler Clementi was this profile picture from his Facebook page in late September 2010.
Tyler Clementi’s parents and brother will meet on Sunday with two members of a group walking from Chicago to the George Washington Bridge to raise awareness about bullying.
Clementi’s brother, James, tells WINS radio it makes sense to go since the Friend Movement is walking in Tyler’s memory.
The 18-year-old killed himself in 2010, soon after starting college. His death sparked a national conversation about the treatment of young gays.
