The village has accepted philanthropist David Bolger’s donation to fund upgrades to the Ridgewood Parks and Recreation Department headquarters, located adjacent to Graydon Pool at the Lester Stable.
Ridgewood Council members unanimously passed a resolution on Wednesday authorizing receipt of the Bolger Foundation’s gift, which states that it will pay the balance for pending improvements to the Stable. The proposed work, which was detailed earlier this fall, includes the installation of new restrooms and a meeting room as well as updates to the kitchen area.
This week’s resolution also mandates the implementation of a construction agreement between the foundation and village, explained Ridgewood Village Attorney Matt Rogers. The agreement, the terms of which were not set in stone at press time, will state that both entities would work jointly to complete the renovation project.

First Valley, then Saraceno, now this guy. Not only are we being sold out, we’re being sold cheap. Our Council has hit a new low.
I understand that the Mayor is going to replace the Ridgewood seal that hangs in the court room with the above picture of Mr Bolger
hey money money money is power.
He just won’t go away….maybe he’s feeling guilty about the Valley expansion that he’s been supporting in the background.
Bolger feel guilty about anything! I don’t think so its not in his DNA
I am shocked, I tell you shocked, that our elected officials are breaking the law by ignoring the gift ordinance. Really? How can this possibly be so?
We have lots of wealthy people here in Ridgewood. But one thing you can say about Mr. Bolger is that he gives back to his community unlike many others. We should be appreciative of that.
#8, we can be appreciative, but we still cannot break the law. He gives back to the community but he also makes money with his various developments. He cannot be allowed to give a gift when he has an application in place for a major development. It is against the law and as far as I am concerned the 5 elected officials should not be allowed to let this go through. Weren’t they elected to uphold the law???
