RIDGEWOOD PUBLIC SCHOOLS MATH PANEL DISCUSSION IS DECEMBER 3

November 26, 2013 – Parents and the public are invited to a panel presentation program on Mathematics in the Professional World on Tuesday, December 3 at the Education Center, 49 Cottage Place from 7:30-9 p.m.

The panel will consist of three current or former Ridgewood residents: Xeno Psi Media CEO MichaelAaron Flicker; Morgan Stanley Vice President William C. Jones; and CPA Linda J. Murphy. Kristen Derewecki, Engineering Associate for Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, will also participate as a panelist.

This event is sponsored by the Ridgewood Public Schools as part of its curriculum renewal process. Teachers, administrators and the public will hear panelists’ thoughts about how mathematics has impacted their professional lives. Panelists will address the following questions:

·        What skills, attitudes and pursuits in mathematics have benefitted you in your professional life?

·        How might schools best create learning experiences that foster success in using mathematics in students’ lives and in their future careers?

Following the discussion, the panelists will take questions from the audience.
The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 7 p.m.
