The “end of the driveway” effort has been a disaster. Poor idea + poor communication = garbage bags in unplowed snow banks for days. All because one guy slipped. Still smells like a union work slowdown.
Guess again # 1 the union has nothing to do with that decision, that was made by management as a loss prevention measure. Get your facts straight.
According to other ‘posters’, the sanitation job is ‘task based’ meaning the workers get to go home after the job is done (instead of hourly pay)
So this is a big vacation for them since they get to go home early on the taxpayer’s nickel.
As usual, the taxpayers in town get screwed.
(they should be helping with snow removal when not picking up trash-just like NYC)
We’re going to have snow piles until April at the rate we’re going, so I suspect that this will evolve into curbside rules year round.
Anyway, who owns Phantom Motorsports on Oak Street, who does that person know in Village Hall?
That asshole never cleans his sidewalk, and now he’s parking cars in the pedestrian right of way. Someone get Boyd Loving over there for some pics. At best it makes the town look like Garfield, and at worst someone is going to get hurt climbing on ice to get around the obstruction. What the fuck?
Is the Phantom lot owned by Benevolent Bolger…?
OK so management made the call for a work slowdown? Oh, wait, we have no Village Manager! So these guys have essentially been supervised by a substitute teacher all winter. Bad idea + bad communication + no supervision = Leaves + Christmas trees + Garbage strewn in unplowed snow banks. Are you suggesting that these guys are giving it 100%?
What few people that are left from what i see then yes they are giving a 100%. More of the problem lies with the lack of supervision.
The sanitation and recycle process has been absolutely disgraceful for the past few weeks. Sure there was snow, but get people out there on the days there isn’t snow and pick it up. Who is in charge anyway?
I like it, it looks like real shitin mess.
well people shovel your walks.
The streets have more ice than any driveway (side streets)
Garbage truck flew down the street. Missed pickup here.
I guess the guys want to go home early since they’re allowed to after the job is ‘done’.
(PS= website stated back to ‘normal’. )
I’ve watched these guys… if they are giving it 100% (which I don’t see), they need to up their game.
Giving 100% does not alway equate to a job well done… ask any Olympic athelete.
Bottom line – the job is not geting done and when it does get done it is done poorly.
(there is also a lack of supervision – multiple problems exist)
