Falling ice injures pedestrian in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, Ice that fell from the roof of a building located at 7 North Broad Street in Ridgewood reportedly struck a pedestrian walking on a sidewalk below, causing minor injuries to the man’s head. Â Ridgewood PD, FD, and EMS units were dispatched to the scene shortly after 12 noon on Friday, 11/28. Â The victim sought refuge from the falling ice in the basement’s building; he was treated there by Emergency Medical Technicians and refused transportation to a local hospital. Â The building’s owner, Mr. Rocco Berardi, was seen arriving at the location shortly after the incident was reported, and talking with police officers. Â Some snow was still observed on the roof of the building as emergency personnel worked inside.
