The National Weather Service has issued hurricane warnings for New York City, Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island, southern Fairfield County in Connecticut, southern Westchester County and various shore counties in New Jersey. Hurricane and tropical storm watches also remain in effect for other counties in the tri-state area.
