I wish people would take photos of parking spaces all over town on different days of the week, ordinary and holiday, and at different times to show in aggregate that parking IS AVAILABLE. A large number of photos documented at various times and days of the week would tell the story. Walking a couple of blocks is good for your health! And unless you’re going to a Hudson St. or S. Broad Street venue, you’ll walk a couple of blocks (or much more) from the garage anyway. Please VOTE NO on June 21 and get an absentee ballot if you can’t.
send them in : onlyonesmallvoice@gmail.com do not forget date, time
at times the problem is not day time, it’s night time, tell people to park at graydon pool lot, village hall lot, they need to walk,
James, as each new one comes in, can you append the previous ones so that they are all visible at the same time?
1) we all know that the parking garage is not necessary.
.
2) we all know that the parking garage will not solve the “problem” of parking a few blocks away and walking (since it is so inconveniently located and will require walking “a few blocks” within the parking garage to get to street level)
.
3) we al know that it does not matter and the garage will be built since the (old and new) council are committed to building a garage.
.
but keep those pics and letters coming folks !
Include the one from the December 2015 Saturday when Santa was riding around in a firetruck and a horse and carriage was touring people around and the holiday season was in full swing. The Hudson Street lot was half empty. Or half full.
How about using Graydon for commuter parking ?
wow, 5:30pm on a Monday before any bus or train from NYC can drop off commuters – if the poster had ever commuted to NYC they would know that to get to Van Neste Square by 5:34pm from the Port Authority you’d have to take Bus No 164X toward MIDLAND PK EXPRESS (Arrives: VAN NESTE SQUARE at 5:34 PM). Don’t know many commuters who can make the Port Authority by 4:35pm to catch this bus…. also don’t know many commuters who can catch Train #6643 departing NEW YORK PENN STATION at 4:45 PM which then connects at FRANK R LAUTENBERG SECAUCUS (7 minute connection time) with Train #1165 that arrives in RIDGEWOOD at 5:26 PM… anyone who could catch that train likely parks by the station, not the bus stop.
I see three empty spots they can fill up in seconds.
6:50. What is your point?
6.50 so you support building an 11 million plus overruns for a parking garage FOR PEAK WEEKEND restaurant dining hours and have no problem with the neighborhood destruction this oversized uneeded Garage brings. If built the housing projects (rentals ) wil follow and school headcount and costs TAXES will explode … no thanks
Unless they are VALET Fans or snobs they will circle find Steet spaces park walk get wine and have a great meal and walk back to their car might even window shop. Status quo. Town is 11 mill plus in black vs debt. garage us uneeded and DONE
Let them Walk. This is ridiculous. Its a walking town. Might see a new store or service. Spreads traffic out to a wider circle than trainside insanity on Broad Hudson and connecting streets
wow 8:38, angry much? Why can’t I make a simple point without you jumping all over me about being in favor of garagezilla? I have been vocally opposed to the garage on this blog for months. Give me a break.
650 933. Not so angry. Perhaps a short memory lapse on your own written comment. Ie PLS read your 6:50 am comment. have a nice day.
We don’t want or need Paul’s Too large garage .is that clear enough?.
New slate elected. JUNE referendum when could have been voted on in May..let’s stop this mistaken Garage 11 million plus overruns June 21 vote
9:10, where’d you get your figures? The Village has over $30mn in debt including some left over from the last time we bonded for a garage and used $1.0mn of the proceeds to conduct “environmental studies”
If we don’t bond and spend another 11 million plus overruns for an uwanted garage then we are not another 11 million in the hole new debt against expected parking revenue overall .
11:41, I don’t support the garage. Get your facts straight before accusing anyone of supporting the garage. I simply made the point the taking apicture at 5:30pm on a weekday, before any trains or buses arrive with commuters, is irrelevant to this debate. As any NYC commuter well knows.
you people are silly – like all these dopey pictures prove something. Not EVERYONE does not want a garage
