Ridgewood NJ, Memorial Park at Van Neste Square is used for many events during the summer . Both the Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce and the Ridgewood Guild host events there . The Park is across from the Ridgewood bus station and on most days a Ridgewood police cruiser is parked near the Ridgewood avenue intersection.
Recently residents have reported that the park has become increasingly garbage strewn . Folks its up to every single one of us to keep Ridgewood a beautiful place .
That’s a fact. And none of that garbage was left behind by a dog.
When my husband coached (basketball, soccer, baseball, softball) he always had to clean up the bench after a game or practice. Coaches were sent reminders about this. He would call to the kids to help but many just left. Parents occasionally pitched in.
They all think that it is someone else’s mess and not theirs.
Reminds me of that big environmental gathering where Al Gore was a speaker. After the event ended, it was strewn with plastic bottles and garbage.
Does the town have a guy in town, and picking up litter is his job? Rides around in a golf cart.
5:41 it is sad to think that we have to hire someone to pick up other people’s trash. Why can’t people drop their junk in a garbage can

The CBD used to be beautiful 20 years ago, a place where people wanted to hang out. Now it’s a dump. Blame complacency, blame demographics (more and more grumpy, anti-progress old farts who protest change of any kind), and blame high rents and asinine – and in many cases union driven – regulations from the state, municipality, and even Federal govt. You make your bed, you sleep in it.
