The bike lane benefits few. There are a handful of hardy souls who bike to the train. No one is biking to town to shop or for dinner. When do you see kids bike into town? I doubt the bike path is for them and I would not want to see teens trying to navigate the mean streets of Ridgewood.
A bike lane through the town is a crazy pipe dream. If anything a bike lane should skirt the town not go through it.
Downtown Ridgewood is a dangerous place for pedestrians. Add in bike lanes and you have a recipe for disaster.
The best idea would be to get rid of it. It’s inevitable. What a sad and sorry waste of money.
Recall we ripped out one side already once mid construction due to the
Traffic congestion all the way to the heights..was driven by the usual take it or leave it planning Build a Bear planning teams..We might take the opportunity to relocate Robertas Electronic welcome to Roberta-ville sign once and for all.Hey it’s just the taxpayers money and that doesn’t seem to count anymore…Ie:GarageZilla..let’s also get the balance sheet total on that placement Fiasco as well.Lets never forget that arrogance needing an historic Referendum to halt that misplaced and still unsafe FISH ANNEX and future Townhouse/ Condo builders dreamy location.we need to stop that as well.
