Traffic is terrible in the area of the train station after Chris ” Bike Lane ” Rutishaser redesigned the area now he is going to bring busses and more commuters to the area. I would like to know his plan for the busses when they reach the end of Franklin Ave? Do they make the turn on to Maple Ave and then turn onto Ridgewood Ave. He said last night he has an alternate plan for the busses to get to Ridgewood Ave. Well what is it “Bike Lane” ? Redesigned the area, spend in excess of three hundred thousand (Cost overruns not included) all for the sake of commuter parking.

  1. The bike lane was a project that Chris Rutishauser, Al Pucciarelli and Roberta were all gaga about. It was a disaster from the git-go. Poorly planned, no one was told about it, and it has caused a boatload of troubles.

  2. Did he forget about John Saraceno”s housing project that will be built at the old Selfons location adding more traffic and congestion to the Maple Ave. How much money and time will be spent on studies for this project? At the council meeting Bike Lane said something to the effect that engineers like to draw plans that what we do. He could also add to the statement ( spend taxpayers money) Hey “bike lane” here a thought. If you like drawing so much go buy some coloring books and crayons and stop spending Ridgewood money.

  3. Hey “Bike Lane” theres a reason why the plans for the bus terminal have been in your office since 2004 collecting dust.

  4. get rid of the bike lane

  5. Great observation

The Corner of Franklin AND Maple Ave is quite narrow and burdened today Esp due oncoming traffic who’s lagging
Left turn from light aside the side street real estate office where coming up into the Franklin intersection heading up towards Stop Shop direction
It’s chaos today.Big trucks have to make wide right turns there into waiting cars qued up for the light.

How to busses get back onto Ridgewood Ave towards route 17. Only way is to make another difficult left into straight traffic after queuing up in front on Bank america ..doesn’t work folks..these are country roads built for low volume low length vehicles.

  6. Ok I can’t even read both of these posts…

  7. Seven low income housing units are planned for the Chestnut Avenue development that was just approved. How the heck does Ridgewood make ant sort of real dent in its preposterous court-imposed low income housing deficit, seven units at a time?

  8. The only conclusion is that these so called traffic engineers don’t ever
actually drive in the Central business district ..complete lunacy..we are actually paying for these experts conclusions ?? making matters worse would be the inevitable result as well as spending a fortune to build out and then fix this mess.

  9. Rutishauser is full of himself. Time for this load to retire.

  10. I have never seen a bike in the bike lane by the train station. EVER

Who are we reserving the lane for?
