East Rutherford NJ, As excitement reached a fever pitch ahead of the World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco celebrated local emergency personnel who helped keep the region safe during the global tournament.

Through a special ticket lottery, 25 pairs of complimentary World Cup tickets were awarded to local first responders as a gesture of gratitude for managing safety, traffic, and logistics throughout the month-long event.

Over 1,900 First Responders Enter Local Ticket Raffle

With the region serving as a primary hub for international soccer fans, local police, fire, and EMS departments carried heavy operational responsibilities. To recognize their dedication:

• Over 1,900 Bergen County first responders submitted entries into the ticket lottery.

• 25 lucky winners were randomly selected to receive pairs of free tickets.

• Featured Matches Attended: Lucky winners watched high-stakes group and knockout matches, including Panama vs. England, France vs. Sweden, and Brazil vs. Norway.

The complimentary ticket initiative was made possible through collaboration between Governor Mikie Sherrill and the NYNJ Host Committee.
