Ridgewood NJ, the Youth Ministry Program at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Ridgewood, has seen an incredible year of engagement, growth, and service during the 2023-24 program year. Here’s a look at the impact our ministry has had on high school teens in our parish:
- 654 High School Teens: The total number of known high school students within our parish community.
- 343 Unique Teens: These students actively participated in various youth programs offered at OLMC, not including those involved in the Confirmation Program.
- 160 Teens Confirmed: This year, 160 teens completed the Confirmation Program and received the sacrament of Confirmation.
- 1,927 Total Attendance: Our Wednesday night Open Center was a hub of activity, with nearly 2,000 total visits throughout the year.
- 313 Teens Volunteered: These teens generously gave their time to our monthly food drives, collecting 96 SUVs worth of food, 104 frozen turkeys, and 44 turkey breasts to help those in need.
- 137 Antioch Retreat Attendees: These teens attended an Antioch Retreat as candidates, seeking deeper spiritual growth and community.
- 153 Journey Retreat Attendees: Another 153 teens participated in a Journey Retreat, continuing their faith journey in a meaningful way.
- 89 Retreat Team Members: Teens stepped up to serve as team members, helping guide and mentor their peers during retreats.
- 52 Youth Rally Participants: Our teens represented OLMC at the New Jersey Catholic Youth Rally, joining with others from around the state for a day of faith and fellowship.
- 34 Catholic Colleges & Universities: Our annual Catholic College Night provided students with valuable opportunities to explore their future educational paths.
- 3 National Conference Attendees: A small but mighty group of teens attended the National Catholic Youth Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, bringing their experiences and inspiration back to the parish.
This year’s achievements highlight the dedication of our youth to their faith, community service, and personal growth. OLMC are immensely proud of their contributions and look forward to another year of spiritual and communal development.
