An email riddled with inaccuracies about the status of the Valley Hospital lawsuits is being circulated by Brianna and Nick Scott.
The email was then forwarded to Councilwoman Susan Traina Knudsen by Lorraine Reynolds and this was her response:
Dear Lorraine,
The best strategy is for the Village to stay the course and prevail in court.
It’s always difficult to understand why anyone would send such misinformation out to the public. I’m especially disappointed to see the inaccuracies further circulated by other well known members of our Village community.
Finally, I’m only addressing the part of the message relating specifically to Valley since our earlier discussion only referred to same. I’ll review the remaining info later on.
Good seeing you this morning and enjoy this beautiful Mother’s Day!
Best,
Susan

I am really surprised how some people are still supporting candidates backed by this mayor. He has shown a history of lies and manipulation. Brooks, Wetiz and Willet’s campaign continues to spread misinformation. Are some Ridgewood residents so naive that they cannot identify this?
lots of Ridgewood residents will vote for whomever they are told. Sad but true. That is what our current mayor is hoping for. I do wonder why the current mayor is so obsessed and having others run full page ads supporting our existing village manager. Must be some hidden dirt someplace.
I read the letter this morning. The Scott’s got their information from Brooks, Weitz and Willett! What do you expect? I had someone tell me the other day that I should not have concern about the Valley Expansion and the risks it poses to our children. I am specifically talking about how our children are expected to walk to school every day past a MASSIVE construction zone and face risks of inhaling construction debris and navigate construction trucks. You want to know what they tried to say to ease my concerns? That most of the nurses, doctors, and employees of the hospital have children of their own and would never put anyone at risk. Can you believe that? That is their argument! How naive do you think I am??????? I almost laughed in their face, but I was taught good manners by my parents. Instead, I will post anonymously and tell you that what they said solidified my vote for the Bernie, Voigt, and Hache.
Ms Scott gets a lot of business from these guys for whom she is written a lie ridden email.

If your 2 main concerns are construction dust and truck safety I think you’re letting your imagination run a little wild.
I’d imagine (but could be wrong) that the construction company would time the trucks entering and exiting so they aren’t happening at school drop off and pick up times. They don’t want to deal with traffic any more then you do.
There would be strict air quality standards and testing for dust and fine particulate matter during demo and building. Besides, do you really think Valley would want huge dust clouds billowing over their hospital, its not good for business or patient safety.
Regarding your comment about someone trying to ease your concern by saying “most of the nurses, doctors, and employees of the hospital have children of their own and would never put anyone at risk” – You’re not seriously suggesting that people who dedicate their professional careers to improving peoples health and saving lives would deliberately disregard the safety of neighborhood kids just so their employer could expand? If this is really the way you feel, I’m just not sure what to say.
9:17 – What I am saying is that the nurses, doctors, and employees are not the ones making the decisions regarding the construction. DUH? That is why I said “Do you think I am naive?”. Really? I’m just not sure what to say. If Valley is really concerned about the residents then they REALLY need to hire a better PR firm to ease our concerns. I will NOT trust someone running for office to ease my concerns. It needs to come from them. Too late.

I’ve heard every reason under the sun as to why the Valley expansion will be bad. Some are legitimate but many are not… When I hear a resident speaking at the planning board meeting that she is worried about the construction workers “looking at her daughters”, I think that illustrates the level of hysteria surrounding this project. Valley may well need a better PR dept. but the opponents to the project moving forward need to realize that when they spout off about crazy fears they’re not going to find many receptive ears among reasonable people.
9:17, construction work begins before the sun rises. No contractor is going to hold back their deliveries or dump trucks until a safer hour.
10:50 – Crazy fears against the construction and crazy counter arguments against those fears is another way to look at it, which is my point. Having a hospital in my town means nothing to me. If I need care, I will go where I need to go. There are PLENTY of choices within 1/2 hour of here. Now, if Valley decides they want to start paying THEIR FAIR SHARE of taxes to this town, well that is another conversation that may be worth listening to. Listen up Valley.
11:23.
That’s a lot of “me”s and “I”s for 3 sentences. Just because having Valley in “your” town doesn’t mean anything to you doesn’t mean that there aren’t many people in Ridgewood who value having Valley in Ridgewood.
11:44 – and many who don’t value having Valley here. This is why it is such a HOT issue. Many people don’t value Valley and many do. I just gave you my view. You have yours. What is your point?
11:44 – Why do you value having Valley here? I’m curious. Educate me on your view.
11:55
I just think you sound a little entitled and self-centered, not unlike many others in town. Fortunately for everyone, a judge is now involved to make a detached decision based on facts, not personal opinions and fear… I think the “greater good” argument will win but who knows. I’m fine either way. Just my view.
Gwenn – please stop. Your time is up.
12:06 – funny. I see Valley as being entitled and self-centered. Just my view.
Was this Brianna Scott an intern under Paul Aronsohn? Who taught her to ‘make up stuff’?
These guys are still forwarding this email full of lies. They will never learn.
9:17- Although I don’t think anyone’s two “main concerns” are “construction dust and truck safety,” if you are going to tell me that you will depend on the construction companies to control these two areas I have a bridge I want to sell you. How the hell does anyone “control” the traffic around here ? All you need is a fender bender on 17 to throw your timing of the trucks off. And you certainly don’t need “huge” anything blowing around to adversely effect the air quality. Tell me, do you think it will improve during construction ?
Finally, most of the “professionals” you refer to do not live in Ridgewood, and those that do certainly not near the hospital. They are collecting a paycheck and head home to wherever. Correct if I’m wrong, but, outside of a few of the doctors, what input into this ridiculous decision did they have ?
12:06-Which “facts ?”
Brianna Scott is a fool. She lives behind valley. With small kids. Wonder who’s planning to buy her a bigger house somewhere else….
I have lived in this town for over thirty years. Valley Hospital always gets its way by suing the Village. Time The hospital starts paying its fair share of taxes. After all it uses all the services the town has to offers. We should start busing in people from Paterson to use the Hospital. Maybe then they will stop taking advantage of the good people of Ridgewood.
