Listen to what Ridgewood Mayor Paul Aronsohn has to say about the costs for a new parking garage.

My take on this sound bite is that our mayor admits property taxes may indeed have to go up if a garage is built.
What’s your take?

  1. Right from the horse’s mouth, as the saying goes. We will all pay, and Oy, and pay.

  2. Politician = liar = standard operating procedure.

  3. And all for something that defies common sense.

  4. Yes 8:09 and he will move out of ridgewood soon and thus not have to pay his share but he will claim this garage as a froward thinking plane he preposed to save the downtown on his web site. A win win for him.

  5. Any self-respecting architect would state that the site is wrong/dangerous for this and refuse to draw blueprints.

  6. Mayors QUOTE “NOTHING IS FREE” EXPECTING COST BETWEEN “$12 MILLION TO $15 MILLION DOLLARS” , BUT THEY’RE CONFIDENT THE COMMUNITY WILL SUPPORT THIS”

SORRY – I DO NOT SUPPORT THIS AND WILL VOTE AGAINST IT !!! ANOTHER TAJ MAHAL DISASTER!!! DON’T BE TOO OVERLY CONFIDENT WITH MY WALLET, MR MAYOR!!

ALSO RIDGEWOOD LIBRARY DOES NOT REQUIRE A PERFORMING ARTS CENTER AT LIBRARY AT TAXPAYERS EXPENSE TO TUNE OF $5 MILLION DOLLARS FOR LIBRARY RENOVATIONS!!

  7. We will pay for the garage even if the referendum is a resounding NO. And we will pay from our taxes every year forever, because taxes never go down. On top of that, we will not even park in the garage because it will cost more than it would be worth to run a couple of errands or meet a friend for lunch. LOSE-LOSE-LOSE

  8. Having read the parking study, I noticed the following.

    1. There is no analysis of how many businesses are in the village and the number of employees. 2. How many commuters and/or shoppers visit the village on a daily basis. 3. Analysis of the the demand for shopping vs. commuter parking. 4. Expected shift in usage from curbside and open lots to the proposed structure. 5. Recommendations for traffic flow, street signage and possible alternate sites. 6. Many of the pages are simply boiler plate or photocopied information.

This 12-page brochure cost $500,000? In my opinion, it is not a parking study but a simple yield estimate. Curious, very curious.

  9. will we get any money from obama fund.

  10. paul you look old.

  11. “Nothing is Free…” That sounds vaguely like “To make an omelet, you have to break a few eggs…”
