Haskell NJ, Assemblyman Robert Auth doesn’t recognize the New Jersey described in Gov. Phil Murphy’s State of the State speech, delivered before the joint Legislature and dignitaries Tuesday afternoon.

“Governor Murphy’s attempt to paint a picture of optimism for the great state of New Jersey fell woefully flat and was devoid of facts,” Auth (R-Bergen) said. “Every New Jerseyan knows we are over taxed and that it is entirely too expensive to live in our great state.”

Auth criticized the governor for correctly stating that New Jersey families are struggling to provide the basic necessities of life while glossing over the fact it is failed Democrat policies that are the cause of those problems.

“If the Governor would have been more truthful he would have said, ‘The legacy of my administration will be higher taxes, more spending, increased crime, an influx of illegal aliens and underperforming schools.’ Further, the Governor has been aided in creating this disastrous legacy by his Democrat colleagues in the House and Senate who control Trenton,” Auth said.
