There is a place in New Jersey you can visit and see some of Jobs’ earliest works for Apple.

The InfoAge Science History Center at Camp Evans has many vintage computers including the Apple II.

After Village Hall was inundated with 3 feet of water in Hurricane Irene’s wrath, the village is grappling with how to protect its treasured building from future catastrophes.

On Monday, Mayor Keith Killion and administrative staff of the village brought residents through the facility’s ground floor to survey the damage, then held an open discussion to entertain ideas from the roughly dozen residents – including builders and architects – who came to listen and contribute.

The building suffered about $200,000 in losses, village officials have reported, including about $90,000 in wall damages and mold abatement on the first level. Four feet of sheetrock was pulled from the walls of the ground floor, which holds the Annie Zusy Youth Center and the Patrick Mancuso Senior Center, as well as a meeting room, an employee lounge, restrooms, a police gym and storage space.

>Teen bicyclist struck by car at Ridgewood intersection

A bicyclist was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of North Irving Street and East Ridgewood Avenue on Tuesday night, authorities said.

According to Ridgewood Police Chief John Ward, the bicyclist, a 17-year-old Ridgewood resident, was traveling east on the northern sidewalk of East Ridgewood Avenue. When the bicyclist entered the crosswalk at the road’s intersection with North Irving Street, the vehicle, driving north from South Irving Street, had already proceeded across the intersection and struck the bicyclist.

The driver reported that the cyclist suddenly appeared in front of him and he did not have adequate time to stop, Ward said. A witness on the scene confirmed the driver’s report, according to Ward. No summonses were issued to the driver.

West Bergen Mental Healthcare, a non-profit counseling and psychiatric center, is now offering a 5-week workshop for siblings and cousins of children with Asperger’s Disorder and related diagnoses. The workshop is designed for 7 to 10 year olds and will cover topics such as tolerance, coping strategies, focusing on your relative’s strengths, disclosure, fairness, finding common ground, etc.

The workshop will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. beginning October 19 through November 16 at West Bergen Center for Children and Youth, One Cherry Lane, Ramsey, NJ.

The fee for the workshop is $175 for the first child registered per family and $50 for each additional family member (verification of family relationship is required). >Ridgewood school district begins ‘Week of Respect’

As district schools began their “Week of Respect” this week, designed to address some of the social issues facing students, the Board of Education (BOE) also made the topic of bullying a priority discussion at its public meeting on Monday.

Building representatives, as well as students and parents from the community, joined district administration and the BOE for a tripartite presentation on harassment, intimidation and bullying (HIB) issues that have been thrust into the national spotlight over the past year.

In addition to Superintendent Daniel Fishbein’s biannual report to the board on investigations into bullying incidents throughout the district, representatives from Ridge School presented a video project in honor of the “Week of Respect.” Fishbein also outlined activities being conducted at individual schools to raise awareness of HIB issues.
