>Reader calls Laurie Goodman comments on field lights “clueless”
 Once again, clueless Laurie speaks of “misinformation” and “mis-statements” about the BOE, the lighting issue, etc. In the past week, she has attacked this blog-not by name-to say it spreads rumor to support its ad revenue.

We have learned since she landed on the BOE that she was clueless, but it doesn’t stop her from doubling and tripling down on her ‘spinning’.

The fact is that she and the BOE think we are a credit card company with no limit. Laurie, what’s in your wallet? Obviously, you think that because someone else pays the BOE/VC bills (like the citizens) that we can continue to spend?

Should the Obama recession continue for the final two years of his presidency, Ridgewood will continue to lose the voters who can’t afford to support Laurie’s reckless spending ways. No matter as she’ll be off the board, so what does she care? Just another hobby to add to her resume before she moves out of town in ’12.

NJ superintendent charged in corruption probe

TOMS RIVER — The superintendent of New Jersey’s fourth-largest school district surrendered to the FBI on Thursday and was charged with fraud and bribery over an alleged insurance-kickback scheme.

Toms River Schools Superintendent Michael Ritacco was implicated earlier this week when a school district supervisor and a Morris County insurance broker admitted in court they had been part of a scheme to inflate school insurance charges and kick back part of the money to Ritacco as bribes.

Gov. Chris Christie will not give state workers the day off the Friday after Thanksgiving, his office said Wednesday.

He also urged lawmakers to deny a request by unions to let them have Black Friday off this year in exchange for working another paid holiday, Lincoln’s birthday, in 2011, which is one of 13 paid holidays off that state workers contractually receive.

The governor’s decision means that about 1,000 employees in Cumberland County will be sharing turkey leftovers with co-workers Friday.

 (CNN) — A pilot who refused to submit to a full-body scan or the alternative pat down going through airport security said the procedures violate his rights.

Michael Roberts, a pilot for ExpressJet Airlines, refused a full-body scan last week at a Transportation Security Administration check point at Memphis International Airport in Memphis, Tennessee.

Opting out of scanning is permitted, but those who opt out must receive an enhanced pat down from a TSA employee.

“Pat down is misleading,” Roberts said. “They concentrate on the area between … the upper thighs and torso, and they’re not just patting people’s arms and legs, they’re grabbing and groping and prodding pretty aggressively.”

Roberts said TSA security measures are ineffective, and cited concerns for his rights and privacy in refusing the procedures.

“I was trying to avoid this assault on my person, and I’m not willing to have images of my nude body produced for some stranger in another room to look at either,” Roberts told CNN.
