Healthcare.gov ‘may already have been compromised,’ security expert says

Not only is healthcare.gov at risk, it may already have been compromised, a security expert testified before the Senate.

“Hackers are definitely after it,” said David Kennedy, CEO of information security firm TrustedSEC before a House Science, Space, and Technology committee hearing on security concerns surrounding the problematic Healthcare.gov website.

“And if I had to guess, based on what I can see … I would say the website is either hacked already or will be soon.”

Kennedy told FoxNews.com he based this on an analysis revealing a large number of SQL injection attacks against the healthcare.gov website, which are indicative of “a large amount” of hacking attempts.

“Based on the exposures that I identified, and many that I haven’t published due to the criticality of exposures – if a hacker wanted access to the site or sensitive information – they could get it,” he told FoxNews.com.

Jean lost her husband, Frank, a firefighter, on 9/11 during the attacks on the Twin Towers, and they leave behind 10 children (some are currently in the RPS system and some have graduated from RHS). The book mainly focuses on her thoughts on love, life and loss.

All proceeds from book sales will go to The Palombo Family Scholarship that will be awarded to a graduating RHS senior.

Ridgewood utility pole issue to be weighed by state

RIDGEWOOD — The state Board of Public Utilities will meet Friday to further consider a petition from the village concerning the recent installation of new, much-taller utility poles in residential portions of town.

The pole installations by the Public Service Electric and Gas Co. drew the ire of Hope Street and Spring Avenue residents over the summer.

In July, homeowners on both blocks complained to Ridgewood officials about the height of the poles, which are 65 feet. Since then, those residents have organized, and further contend that a chemical to preserve wood that the poles are coated with poses potential health hazards.

PSE&G agreed to the village’s request to put pole installations on hold until the BPU renders a decision on the petition.

The BPU will continue considering Ridgewood’s petition Friday at 11:15 a.m. in Trenton.

All meetings of the Ridgewood Planning Board (i.e., official public meetings, work session meetings, pre-meeting assemblies and special meetings) are public meetings which are always open to members of the general public.

Reader calls those skeptical of Village Development “ostrich friends”

My dear ostrich friends, keep your heads in the sand, keep Ridgewood the same, keep the unsightly empty car dealerships with landscaping trucks parked there on the weekend. How about opening our eyes to creating a village where people who want to be in Ridgewood but are just starting out or those of us empty-nesters can move when the house feels too big?

How about creating a vibrancy in town that might attack more great restaurants and interesting shops? How about saying lets think about development as a positive and while it is all a bit much to do it all at once, a plan for growth that stages these developments over the next 10 years based on demand would be sensible. The intense black or white view of every issue is getting tiresome and smells of ignorance not understanding and forward thinking.
