CALLING ALL WANNA-BE MOVIE STARS! https://theridgewoodblog.net/calling-all-wanna-be-movie-stars/
The Bergen County Historical Society is celebrating 120 years as an organization!
All three 18th century Jersey-Dutch Sandstone houses including the state historic site – the 1752 Steuben House will be open for tours throughout the day.
Stop by the Westervelt-Thomas barn to see broom making and corn shelling demonstrations and visit with the blacksmith on site to see what kind of wares he is making.
Do not forget to visit the society’s authentic Jersey-Dutch out-kitchen where BCHS interpreters will be preparing seasonal 18th century foods.
Take a peek at the treasures in the gift shop while you enjoy donuts and hot cider which will be available for purchase outside the tavern. Activities for families include scarecrow making, free pumpkin picking and decorating, and a taste-testing of a variety of apples. We have warm cider and cider donuts in the Tavern to purchase. We’re having Birthday Cake too.
Ticket reservations can be made here online or pay at the gate: $12 adults, $7 students, BCHS members free. Free parking available on site or take the train to “New Bridge Landing” on the Pascack Valley Line.
Dogs are permitted on site on a leash but not in the houses.
