Supporting Bergen County’s Vibrant Jewish Community

Bergen County is home to one of the largest and most vibrant Jewish populations in New Jersey, and leaders are reaffirming their unwavering commitment to protecting residents’ rights to practice their faith freely and safely.

“I want to acknowledge the continued concerns felt within our Jewish community here in Bergen County and across the globe,” Tedesco added. “Your safety is paramount to my administration, the County Commissioner Board, and our law enforcement agencies.”

Increased Security for Passover 2025

As part of ongoing efforts to enhance public safety during religious observances, county and local law enforcement agencies will increase patrols around synagogues and Jewish institutions throughout Passover. These proactive measures aim to ensure peace of mind for Jewish families during this sacred time.

“We are committed to making sure every resident, including the thousands of Jewish families across our county, can observe Passover without concern,” Tedesco said.

Diversity as Bergen County’s Greatest Strength

With nearly one million residents representing a wide array of backgrounds, Bergen County celebrates its rich cultural and religious diversity. Events like the High Holy Day security briefing reflect the County’s continued efforts to protect and uplift every community.

“Bergen County’s diversity is our greatest strength,” said Tedesco. “It enriches us all and makes our community an incredible place to live, work, and raise a family.”
