Twp. of Washington NJ, the County of Bergen has agreed to expedite the paving of County roads within the Township of Washington . The milling and paving to begin in late August early September and impact neighboring towns of Ridgewood, Ho-Ho-Kus and Hillsdale .
Maywood NJ, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco recently joined the Board of Commissioners to present a $197,153 grant from the Bergen County Open Space Trust Fund (OSTF) to Maywood Mayor Richard Bolan for upgrades to Maywood Memorial Park, including lighting upgrades and electrical work.

Hackensack NJ, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco has announced the opening of several emergency cooling centers throughout the County to help residents stay safe during the current heat wave, as temperatures are expected to climb over 90 degrees.
Cooling centers will be open tomorrow, Tuesday, June 18th through Friday, June 21st from 9am – 6pm.

Paramus NJ, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco attended two solemn memorial ceremonies to honor and remember our fallen firefighters. The first was at my local firehouse for the Paramus Fire Department. In the afternoon, He joined the New Jersey/New York Volunteer Fireman’s Association for their annual memorial service.
Leonia NJ, Bergen County opened the new Equine Wellness Center in Leonia . The Bergen Equestrian Center established in 1974 is a multi service horse facility on 22 acres of landscaped grounds providing a home for over 75 horses at Overpeck County Park in Leonia, New Jersey, (minutes away from the GWB.) Amenities include 3 outdoor riding rings, 2 indoor riding rings, air conditioned tack rooms, heated lounge with a panoramic view of the main indoor arena for an optimum year round experience. Programs include children’s camp, group and individual riding lessons, corporate team building and A Stable Life. A Stable Life is an equine assisted therapy program for families, small groups and individuals looking to heal their souls with the presence and grace of a horse. Dedicated and fully trained staff and therapists work to ensure participants receive a positive experience. The facility is also the home to Columbia University’s Man of War Program.
Hackensack NJ, in his State of the County Address earlier this year, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco unveiled a groundbreaking initiative that has been in the works for two years: bringing broadband internet to the doorstep of every borough hall and municipal library across Bergen County. This ambitious plan aims to ensure equitable access to the Internet for all residents, bridging the digital divide and fostering a more connected community.

Hackensack NJ, yesterday the County of Bergen raised the Israeli Flag at One Bergen County Plaza and held its annual ceremony to recognize Yom Ha’zikaron (Israeli Memorial Day) and Yom Ha’atzmaot (Israeli Independence Day). As is common in Jewish tradition, these days of mourning and celebration are observed closely together and for the past eight years, the County has recognized both at this annual event to remember those lost in the struggle for independence and to recognize the friendship between our two nations.
